Thoughts on a Rebel Regeneration list

A quick Rebel list theory:

Poe Dameron

Yeah. Poe and Stresshog are fairly standard, and we all know how annoying they are.

However, Red Ace with R2-D2 and Comm Relay can effectively regenerate 2 shields a round, without the dictation of action, and therefore is also bloody annoying to take out.

I'm counting the Comm Relay Evade token as a regenerated shield, which is technically the case against TLT, but is practically the same with every other form of damage.
It will actually be superior to a shield once Tractor Beams and Defenders with Ruthlessness come into play.

​And as a 99 point fleet with a PS 10 ship and a Stresshog, the fact that it has a PS 6 ship is not exactly detrimental when fighting Palp/Aces.

This trio is actually fairly standard in my area. I've faced it a few times. Its nasty, particularly against people who just have no idea what to go after first.

Personally, I've had success by killing them in this order: Poe, then y-wing and save Red Ace for last. If its 1v1, Red Ace wins against anything less than 36 points. If its 2v1, even Red Ace's regen is not enough (unless its two piddly TIEs....then its a fight)

Alpha-strike lists (such as crack shot IG88s) can get away with killing the hog first, but generally, if Poe dies, its not easy on this list to actually win certain matchups (again, my experience, so YMMV and all).

I can see that. PalpAces certainly wants to kill Poe above all else, and Alpha Strike tends to remove ships before regeneration actually occurs...

Flew this with Poe as a flanker with Lone Wolf instead of VI to a store champ. Did alright but had a couple bad beats and made some mistakes. With the meta I encountered, Lone Wolf served me well as VI would have only mattered in one of the games I played in. Also don't forget your integrated astro on Red Ace!

Yep, been flying this for a while and called mine the Fox and the Hound because of the bait tactics you want to be using with this list.

Don't forget to throw in Integrated Astromech on Red Ace, because it is often a factor in living and dying... especially on Direct Hits.

Of course, flying this on Vassal in the league you never know what to expect. My last two matches have featured the Hateful Eight (8 TIE Fighters... Wampa and Chaser instead of Howlrunner) and Darth Vader with Black Crackshots. Not going to lie... regeneration is difficult at best against swarms. If you ever get blocked (or touch an asteroid while in range) you are toast. I am getting better at flying these but I still have a long way to go till I am flying this like I want to.
