As per the subject title, any idea if Imperial Veterans will come out close to Wave 8? I'm assuming not, but is there any indication when it may be out (not wishing to start another "count down thread".
Too optimistic to think Imperial Veterans will come out close to Wave 8?
In which you just started a count down thread.
No, because it's still listed as "At the factory" on the Upcoming page. And while I don't put all that much faith in how often that page is updated, the history with FFG is the Ace-style release packs are always mid-wave releases. So it's kind of Wave 8.5, and my entirely random guess would be sometime in May to June. Wave 9 will no doubt be announced some time soon after Wave 8 gets out to the stores, so it'll be a good filler to hold everyone until that product is out.
I'd give it at least 4 months... which is in line with what Slugrage just said.
I imagine it'll come out at GenCon.
It's been at the printer for a month or so, it'll be a bare minimum of 6 weeks once it leaves the printer. June at the absolute earliest, probably more like AUgust.
Yes.
No legal good Defenders until August?!?!?!?!
Guys, this is called bait and switch.
Still at the printers. A minimum of 3 months out. Gencon seems likely unless they decide to rush in another release. I'm more curious if they are going to do any other announcements before Gencon and, if so, what that means for the Gencon announcement.
Considering we really only have Imperial Veterans on the release schedule after next week, I think they may announce something next week at GAMA. I am kind of expecting an X-wing and Armada announcement next week at GAMA (though, not necessarily a Wave announcement).
Imp Vets limited release at GenCon is almost expected. Probably radio silence on X-wing until then with Wave 9 unveiled at the con.
I'm still hoping for imperial vets at the hoth open.
Well the article did say that Imp Vets is "scheduled to arrive at retailers in the first quarter of 2016" And the end of the first quarter is March 31st. So Maybe by then? *fingers crossed*
Fantasy Flights quarters are more akin to the federal governments.....there first quarter begins in July, just like FFG. ![]()
In another thread I made the prediction of late April or early May.

In the past has FFG done limited con releases like Wyrd, where items are availible online AND in person during the con?
Or do we have to find ninja-shoppers?
No, they fly in a limited supply. In person only.

Don´t say things like that, I would love to add Maarek Stele in a Defender to my list.
I mean, I get their drift of selling extra expansions that way, but they lose sales over this as well, as people will not buy the old expansions without the fix available to them.
Besides that, imho they should add those fixing cards to one of their smartphone apps and make cards from that app tournament legal or even better just hand out such fixes at official tournaments. And if they really want to screw us customers over, they could even remove cards from the app once the fixes are available via expansions.
I really understand the need to modify the balance of cards while the game develops, a shifting and evolving meta is the core component to keep the game fresh and constantly evolving, and I understand as well that they want to make money and that we are talking about usually physical products, so it is not that easy to push upgrades. Still, I really would appreciate some form maintenance expansions which just include all needed "patches" as cards, nothing else and for a reasonable price. And with reasonable I mean something that still allows them to make a profit, but does not come with a $100 price tag like the TIE/x1. ;-)

Coruscant invitational is my bet.
I did the math on another post which I was trying to find but your bascally something like this
6-10 weeks shipping
1-2 weeks to FFG warehouse
3-5 days to online/FLGS
3-5 days from online to you
In total thought I think its right at 180ish days from concept to hand which has been true for most waves.
Wave 8 took a bit longer then past waves it was Announced on July 31 and is hitting the store March 17, it is at 8 months. Thought with Aces being a single release it should go much quicker. Based on below, Your looking at looking at July 22-Aug12 would be the correct time seeing it was Announced on 12/14/2015. It is weird for Aces not being a March or Sept thing.
Rebel Aces were Announced on March 18, 2014 and were out on Sept 25, 2014 which is 6 months.
Imp Aces were Announced on Sept 16, 2013 and were out on March 17,2014 which is 6 months

Of course it should go much quicker, there are no new models to be approved by Lucasfilm.
Conversely, I suspect it was announced rather earlier than it normally would have been, I understand there was a leak or something - so it might be longer than average.
I'm hoping I can play a Vets list at the Yavin open, but I'm not expecting to be able to.

Yeah they have the molds already it's just a matter of paint so it shouldn't take too long to do.
I'm looking forward to the defendepocalypse!!!

TIE/Docolypse. It sounds like Tidy-ocalypse. This will be the neatest end of the world ever.
Yeah I figured that they would have the models already approved etc... so was hoping for a quicker turn around to release. But guess the reality is that it'll remain a guessing game until announced. I'm assuming it'll be close to release time when they announce the remaining pilots. Kinda feel wave 8 for imperial is a bit meh.
