Scum ruined this game for me
deathrain spits on your IG block
bombs help freshen things up a lot
and scum (sadly) don't have the awesome bomber options of Deathrain or K-wings. Sure you have emon, but emon's bloated and cant boost/roll/slam
(see Warden squadron A-slam if you want to go back to rebels)
Yeah, Scum need a proper bomber (not that bomber Y-wings are necessarily bad), at least akin to the TIE Bomber. Wish Cloakshapes could fill that role but they didn't do that traditionally. Maybe the Scurrg (ew prequels).

Deathrain and the advanced slam Warden K are amazing conner net relays
Miranda TLT is deadly with a pair of seismics, which keep aces off her back and give you a very good game plan against crackswarm (plus it's extra damage v brobots and such)
bombers with seismics will be great once gchips and scanners are introduced, as they complement the bomber's jousting very well by discouraging enemy pursuit
even TLT ys can pop seismics behind them as they run around the table
problem is, imo, we don't have a lot of proper bombs 
apart from seismics and conners, I don't even look at them
with wave 8 coming, and the promise of ordnance with buffs, the stock of bombers should go up especially the K's (freaking sabine!!!)
as is, I can't think of anyone who'd appreciate a 2 damage conner net from an A-SLAM warden, especially not ordnance jumpmasters
Were Thermal Detonators spoiled, yet? Kind of hope they suck so I don't have to buy multiple Ghosts...

. I missed my scum fun now every time I start to think of list for Rebels and Imps they look so boring to me. there is no fun in it. Im starting to think I might have List Builders Block

I highly doubt it would be mission specific. It's an upgrade card, so it's for the game as a whole.

My brother bought in because of scum, and He is one of the few people I get to play with, so I'm glad scum's a thing.
I find it very hard to play anything else since they have so many fun abilities. I did notice however that their debuffs can make them somewhat less fun for opponents in casual play. Oh you have phantom, how about PS0 with Mux? Want to be served 2 stess and a punch in the gut from my 666 with gunner, Bossk, and tactician? Thanks for the evade token, my Palob needed one of those. Can be a little frustrating.
Obviously, they are fairly well balanced with the ease of killing scum's fragile ships. Competitively, I have no qualms about running scum, but pick up games with friends that aren't dedicated to the game often have me reaching for another faction.
I think the faction adds a nice dynamic to the game. Helps avoid only Rebel v Imps.

When xwing first came out, I only played imperial swarm. After a few waves I played rebels. Then went back to imperial. Back to rebels. Back to imperial. Then to scum. This is intended by ffg, and is a tactic used by a lot of game makers. If you only play one part of the game, you won't feel obliged to buy the other pieces now would you? So ffg makes new ships/upgrades/combos for each faction to draw you in a different direction with each new wave. This serves 2 purposes. 1st, you give them more money. 2nd, they offer you different options that appeal to you, forcing you to play new things and therefore not getting bored with their product. As they add new ships, the game play and meta will change. And so will your experience playing. Nothing wrong with that

In a word: No.
You could always try Fab's random squad generator to remedy this situation. It always puts out something wacky so you don't even need to think about a list.
