here's hoping Sabine opens us up for some rebel love for some of the least appreciated upgrades in the game

So, professional competitive opinion on Punishers?
I haven't gotten them to work at the competitive level. They eat it hard vs TLT and I usually feel like I wanted Soontir for 35 points instead.

black 8 - jank
deathrain (pictured) - from what I've seen, it's either aces or TLTs; this dude mauls aces. TLTs are another issue
redline - wait for guidance chips
I've got a K-Wing Bomber Iist I'm planning on flying in two weeks. Must fly my 4 T-70s list first; been 2 weeks too long for those guys to have a turn flying.
EDIT: Love that version of Red Ace. Looks good w/ Red & Black. Mine's Red & Yellow.

What is your Deathrain loadout?
Deathrain is pretty good against aces. But wow. 2 TLTs???/ Eff dude. Deathrain isn't going home alive.
Also a problem if what to run with Deathrain. No shuttle, cuz another 1 agi ship means you just keel over to TLT. 1.5 aces? Soontir and OL/Carnor or something?

Deathrain's fatness makes list building a right chore. Omega L and Vader worked amazingly today, but they were picked as hardcounters to the palp ace heavy enviroment (every store champ before tonight was won by palp aces) and because I have three sexy FO advance collecting dust in my case
accuracy correctors helps a lot v TLTs, but in the OL + Vader list I doubt the 3 had enough firepower to deal with 4 TLTs
punisher boost v TLTs is not to be underestimated, though. Unless you're facing spam, it'll save your hide especially when you toss seismics (you probably won't hit turrets, who like to run away from you, with seismics) to get that pre-move roll
loadout:
Deathrain (accuracy, munitions, conners, seismics)
had tie/mk2 which did nothing apart from almost lose me initiative in the semi-finals to a palp ace list

Conner nets are just such a great ace killer. Sabine will make them even better on a Warden Sqn K-Wing. 10 more days until I can get my Ghost with any luck!

I always think about taking pictures during my games, and by the second or third turn of the first game of a tournament, I get too involved and forget about it. Great work with Deathrain. I just love that guy.

It always seems magical to me how people discard ships that don't fit into their meta as generaly useless. The Punisher in particular has two really strong pilots (when Chips are out) that can counter certain metas really hard (more extreme with Deathrain, Redline is more of an alrounder). They are forces that,when used at the right time, can net you good victories. You have to learn how to recognize these times.

Deathrain and conner nets in general seem to have been designed with a wave 6 "holy **** it's nothing but 2-ship builds" in mind
the nets especially were a gloriously overpowered card that promised salvation back during those dark days, but now we have TLT + stress doing the work for us
which is, of course, not to say that conners don't still utterly ruin elite/fat ships (pictured), but I do understand why people would gravitate towards TLT instead as it's far easier/more consistent to use. Without bombs, even AC doesn't make an impressive use of 38 points so you really have to coordinate your squad with Deathrain to make the most out of the turns you get a conner's off
I played TLTs prior in the last two SCs here (albeit with Miranda rocking out seismic charges, because hell yeah and because crack swarm) and managed to brick wall against palp aces on both occasions, although one loss was because the remaining jammer shuttle was 2 points more expensive than my remaining tactician warden 
so yeah, if you run into tons of palp aces and brobots, Deathrain's your guy (as are Omega L and Vi Vader)
