Just wanted to know if power on characters stay's on a character when it goes back into the shadows, and if it still counts towards victory if it does?

Cards in Shadows are not in play. So if a card goes from being in play to being in Shadows, it leaves play. When a card leaves play, any power on that card is lost - the same as when it is killed, discarded or returned to hand.
