Exploding Rune

By Makiggles, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Can you do 2 regular actions with your hero, like move then attack, then get an extra attack with Exploding Rune. Or does Exploding Rune simply add blast to one of your regular attacks?

It is a special attack action which you can do as one of your 2 actions, NOT in addition to them.

As indicated by the arrow symbol on the card. All cards/ abilities that have that arrow symbol cost an action.

ok, so just to clear then, you can't do 2 attacks then, then use fatigue for an extra action and attack again with exploding rune?

I don't know what you mean by "use a fatigue for an extra action".

The Runemaster does have a skill that lets him perform an additional attack, "Quick Casting." However, this skill will not allow you to repeat Exploding Rune- the additional attack will just be a regular attack.

Wasn't it something you could do in 1st edition?

Negative. In first edition, each hero did mostly the same types of start of turn abilities, but after that was resolved you had to choose ONE action...which was then broken down into different categories.

Advance - move and attack

Run - move twice your speed

Battle - attack twice

ready - move OR attack and then choose one of 5 tokens to use (aim, dodge, rest, guard, prolonged)
