Which list should I use for store champs?(in 10 hours)

By FNG tie pilot, in Star Wars: Armada

Tommorow morning one of my local stores is hosting Store Champs. I'm torn between 2 lists. One rebel, one imperial. Creating this to let the community vote. I know it's a bit last minute, but what the hell.

Here's the lists.

REBELS:400 points

Assault Frigate MkII B

-Ackbar

-Gunnery Team

-ECM

-XI7

Assault Frigate MkII B

Advanced Gunnery, Fleet Ambush, Minefields

or

IMPERIALS:391 points

ISD II

-Motti

-ECM

-Wulff Yularen

-XI7

-Gunnery Team

ISD II

-ECM

-Needa

-XI7

-Gunnery Team

Major Rhymer

Boba Fett

Firespray

Firespray

Advanced Gunnery, Contested Outpost, Minefields

Imperial, all the time.

I'd go for the Imperial one too. The Rebel list just feels a bit, well... no real depth to it.

Yes, the ISD one looks better for me.

Good luck!

Rebel list...drop the 4th AF for fighters.

Whatever you do, drop the fleet ambush from that Ackbar list.

Why would you want your opponent to be close!

Reduce your Rebel list to 390 for a bid to go first.

That Imp list gets wrecked. Ok, not wrecked, but 4 to 6 points earned per game. Also has to potential for very unfun games when an agile opponent makes every effort to stay out of medium range.

What Stasy said. Oh, and prepare for a boring day with it ;-)

The reb list, but change down two of the Assault frigates th CR90 As with TLRC, then buy a nice bundle of fighters.

I have a better idea....

Take a totally off the wall list.

Nebs with B-wings sounds very seat of your pantsie.

Total 397.

1 • CR90 Corellian Corvette A - General Rieekan (74)
2 • CR90 Corellian Corvette A - XX-9 Turbolasers (49)
3 • CR90 Corellian Corvette A - XX-9 Turbolasers (49)
4 • CR90 Corellian Corvette A - XX-9 Turbolasers (49)
5 • CR90 Corellian Corvette A (44)
6 • CR90 Corellian Corvette A (44)
7 • CR90 Corellian Corvette A (44)
8 • CR90 Corellian Corvette A (44)

.....that....is kinky.....

[ REBEL FLEET (396 points)
1 • CR90 Corellian Corvette B - General Rieekan - Ion Cannon Batteries (74)
2 • CR90 Corellian Corvette B - Ion Cannon Batteries (44)
3 • CR90 Corellian Corvette B - Ion Cannon Batteries (44)
4 • CR90 Corellian Corvette B (39)
5 • CR90 Corellian Corvette B (39)
6 • CR90 Corellian Corvette B (39)
7 • CR90 Corellian Corvette B (39)
8 • CR90 Corellian Corvette B (39)
9 • CR90 Corellian Corvette B (39)

Even Better, If you show up with 9 Cr-90s I think your opponent will forfeit. I mean just think you could slow move each one and it would be an hour for turn 1 :-p

So rebels seemed to overwhelmingly win on the votes so I went with them. Me and a some buddies talked about the missions before the tournament so I changed to most wanted, fleet ambush, dangerous territory.

Round 1 I played against 2 corvettes w/engines techs, 1x MC-30, 2x assault frigs, 6x a wings. Opponent took initiate and chose most wanted. It played out as a really slow and boring armada game. We essentially danced around each other with his 3 small ships trying to stay in my rear arcs and his awings jumping into attack positions when able. His assault frigs were stuck out of the fight most of the game. Turn 4 I got a few good side shots into one of his corvettes and dropped it. That was the only kill the entire game.

Round 2 my opponent also chose to take initiate choosing dangerous territory. He had 1 assault frig, 1 mc80, 1 mc30, with 4awings. 5 of the obstacles were clustered pretty close together, with the last one on the opposite side of the map. I was able to snag 3 of them in the cluster while at the same time parking in front of his assault frig and mc-80 on top of debris fields he landed on to snag his 2 objectives. He stayed on the debris fields for 2 turns while taking constant barrages. He was able to drop one of my non ackbar frigs as he lost his frigate and mc 80. One of my other assault frigates came out of the exchange with heavy damage and was almost finished off by the awings. Had there been a turn 7 he surely would've killed it since the mc30 had finally maneuvered itself back towards the fight.

Round 3 my opponent was running 2 Motti ISD IIs with a demolisher. He decided to give me initiative and I chose contested outpost from his missions(out of advanced gunnery and dangerous territory). Station was placed in the the middle with both ISDs jumping onto it turn one and turn 2. I split my fleet onto 2 squads of 2 flanking the ISDs. His demolisher dropped one of my ships start of round 3. By the end of round 3 I had dropped his non Motti ISD, put 10 damage on Motti, and 5 damage on the demolisher with me gaining control of the station. Turn 4 I killed Motti, but not before he repaired a damage card on his demolisher. (I was really hoping to get the 2 for 1 special and watch his gladiator die when motti died, but not this time). I was able to gain objective points on the station rounds 3-6.

Overall I ended with 23 tournament points and 3 wins giving me my 2nd store champ victory here in Vegas. Gave me enough store credit to finally pick up a raider and mc30. Can't wait to play test them this week

Whatever you do, drop the fleet ambush from that Ackbar list.

Why would you want your opponent to be close!

Fleet ambush is my automatic go to yellow card for any of my ackbar lists. I love it because it screws up my opponents deployment and puts them closer to my red dice. One trick I've learned is to deploy all three obstacles that I get to place right in back of the fleet ambush deployment box pushing there ships closer to mine. If they are fighter heavy it can be a little painful, but I've realized my best bet if that happens is to jump to speed 3, light up whatever capital ships you can, and run away from the fighters.

Well done. Remember the outpost in contested outpost doesnt repair damage!

Yep there was no repairs done by the station. Only commands

So you took the list with the objective cards we told you not to and got second place.

Gotta love it. Kudos.

Not 2nd place. I took first place for the second time at an armada store championship.
