Price Check: YV-666 Pilots

Continuing our series where we re-evaluate the points costs of cards in the current meta, one card category at a time. Just copy the list and insert your own point values.

If you find a card on the list that you have never been interested in taking in competition because it seems too inefficient or too situational, consider the point value that would convince you to try it in a competitive squad and write in that value.

These are basically the correct costs for the pilots themselves.

The value of a YV-666 is greatly influenced by it's crew cards. There are a few crew cards that I find problematically underpriced... but that's a post for Price Check: Crew Cards.

I finally started playing with my YV that I got for Christmas. Only have 2 games with it so far, both using the slaver.

It's a decent ship, a bit hard to turn around like the shuttle, but more forgiving with the wide fire arc and the 3 white turns as well.

Love that you can have 3 crew slots on it.

Comparing it in price to the basic shuttle. Assuming you think the shuttle is fairly priced, then the YV probably is as well. You're paying 8 more points to get an extra shield & hull, twice as big a firing arc, and a dial that's a bit better. You also lose the systems slot but gain a 3rd crew slot, as well as a missile slot and illicit slot.

Yeah, they're mostly good, though the aces are a bit pricey vs. their actual surviveability, much like B-wings though not necessarily overcosted.

A fully operational 666 is juicy and squishy and hard to keep alive.

A title fix would fix the ship.

If the title would be 0 points it would be of course an auto-include.

On the other hand, the opponent would know that if he kills the 666, there will be a Z95 around.

This would maybe change target priority a bit and this help the 666 in overall.

I concur with some of the thoughts above. The pilots and ship seem to be priced correctly. However, the ship can be brought down quickly so one must be care how many points they load onto the 666.

The title is the weak point. At 3 point I feel it would be used but not auto include. Wish it allowed Bossks ept to carry over to pup. Like title for Razzi so her ability can keep being used.

I think that they're all correctly priced. I tried all pilots in different setting, and never was disappointed: they brought to the table what I expected from them. Even got some use from the title.

It takes some game to get the hang of it, but once you do, the YV can be a real monster on the table. It can go down pretty fast, but if you know it, you can use it to your advantage. I now have a hard time not including a YV into my lists, and wave 8 new crews will just make it better. 3 crew slot is not enough!

I think only the slaver is correctly priced and everyone else is overcosted by 2 points (latz by 1)

When k4 hlc moralo clocks in at 44 compared to a brobot for 6 more cuts, some concessions have to be made especially as they lack epts

The gunner bossk slaver is a monster though

I think that giving Moralo a HLC is a trap. He's better with a Ion cannon and then some way *cough* Bossk, Gunner, Tactician *cough* to make the opponent pay if they dodge his Ion shot. He's a great controller/Ace killer and I had a lot of success with him.

I personally love the YV as they are priced, I'm only gonna say it's one HELL of a ship *badoom ts*

Well, the problem is that they don't have the EPTs required for them to see more use, it seems that their costs include the price for the EPT slot.
