I am planning on doing a store championship in a few weeks and am trying to settle on a list to prep. I am a new player, haven't played many matches. I only have 1 of each..Ewing/Awing/Bwing/Falcon/Ywing/Z95/T70/T65.

I am thinking of this group. Is this a competitive build? I realize flying is a huge part of it and I really don't expect to win. Just to have fun and be competitive.

Yes, Etahn already makes free crits happen so you definitely don't need marksmanship. You want to play defensively with him anyways as he will probably be the first target. Paired with R2D2, you will be doing green moves already to regen and now shed stress. Poe wants R5-P9 and autothrusters, doesn't want guidance.

R5-P9 is in the Rebel Transport so if you don't have it and don't plan on getting it, you can use BB-8 to do some more arc dodging or anything else you like. R5-P9 is nice on Poe if you're already using R2-D2 because Poe doesn't mind holding a focus token through combat to regen with it after. And autothrusters are with the Starviper. I'd recommend picking this one up even if you're not gonna use the ship for a pair of autothruster cards, as they're oh so good.

ok, thanks the Star viper looks more doable for the budget right now. The transport is probably too big right now for the space I have.

Poe + BB8 + PTL is best after no regen I would think. Lets him BR, push to focus, move green, then either TL or boost. Instead of Etahn, maybe free up points for Corran? that is a big step up in productivity. Corran is a beast. Corran + R2D2 + FCS + Marksmanship is just heaven when you lineup the right attack.

Poe + BB8 + PTL + IA = 36pts

Corran + Marksmanship + FCS + R2D2 = 44pts

So 20pts left over. Maybe Blount + Ion (20pts) auto hits against aces you will come across

or Cracken + Draw Their Fire (20pts) will let your two aces perform an action after he attacks. And since they are all 8's, it can be before or after Corran or Poe attacks. So Poe could attack, then Cracken attacks and lets Poe boost out of arc. Draw Their Fire saves a hit from Corran or Poe.

or Tala + Assault + Munition Failure (20pts) gives you damage vs any swarms you may come across, or just a good start to a fight where everyone receives a damage.

Maybe also look at quantity over quality if you dont have the right upgrade cards. One extra ship makes a huge difference:

I shoulda been more specific. I have the core sets..no wedge yet. I thought about running 4 ships. I might try that. I like corran and love the awing and its dial. That's why I went with Ethan but I will look at that. I haven't had much luck keeping z95s alive when I have been playing but haven't had too many matches which is why I am hesitant to go with 4 ships.

apparently I am in desperate need of more expansion packs, they may have to wait another month or two. Got bills to pay this month. Thanks for your help
