Repulsor Boots

By Parthenopaeus, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

One of my players is interested in getting a pair of repulsor-boots for his character (a Bounty Hunter/Assassin). I know one of the more recent releases features rocket boots, but I'm not sure that this reflects the repulsor-boots I had in mind. The Bounty Hunter's Code cites repulsorboots of capable of carrying a user up to 250 feet in the air, but I thought this was a little extreme. The old-canon instance of repulsorboots that I always thought was really cool are employed by Jabiim's Nimbus Commandos in the old Dark Horse Clone Wars comics.

These seem to significantly enhance speed and perhaps jumping capability a bit, but not to the extent of 250 feet. How would you reflect these stats-wise?

There are some stated, in Strongholds of Resistance, page 115.

The are some shown in the clone wars season 4 on Cad Bane. They dont look like they could make more than 4 meters.

Could you qoute the stats, or is this against the forum policy?

Cade Bane's boots are commonly used to fly in low level engagements (we see examples of him engaging Jedi Multiple times while airborne), though most encounters they typically get damaged or disabled.

The repulsor boots cited to have a maximum height of around 35 foot, unless I am wrong and it's considered meters. Basically it's a more conviant way of using a jetpack (in that it doesn't occupy a backpack slot) but has a limited height ceiling. I imagine this max height could be hand waved in zero G/low gravity though.

I would also think its much harder to fly with two boots instead of one jetpack, but it would also make different things possible.

The other thing to consider is that Repulsor Boots would not work in zero gravity — they need gravity to push against.

Rocket Boots or a Rocketpack should work fine in zero g, since they operate by a different principle.
