Mon Mothma and the MC30s

By Rogue13Leader, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Hi Everyone,

I've been playing a lot with the MC30s and Mon Mothma but need some advice/opinions on the list. Let me know which one you like best or any other tips.

A few thoughts:

1) I'd like to keep the bid at 388 or better.

2) I can drop Dash down to a generic and put some more toys on the Scout Frigate.

3) I can drop the Scout Frigate for another TRCvette and add Han Solo.

Appreciate the help!

MC30c Torpedo Frigate (63 points)

- Foresight ( 8 points)

- Ordnance Experts ( 4 points)

CR90 Corvette A (44 points)

1 Dash Rendar ( 24 points)

3 YT-2400s ( 48 points)

Always good to see Mon Mothma and MC30's on the table. :)

I think option 2 is your best bet - you won't be dominating the squadron game anyways, and 4yt's is more than enough to hold off a moderate squadron group.

With those 8 points I would either

A) buy the Admonition title (because it's great on a torpedo frigate), or

B) buy Jaina's Light for your CR90. Since you'll be going first you'll be selecting your opponents missions most of the time, and having a ship that can compete effectively in Dangerous Territory or Intel can be a game winner. You can get an even bigger initiative boost with this with the extra points.

You could do both if you downgrade Dash to a plain X-wing, which can help your YT's live longer with its escort function.

Either way, I would also move Foresight over to your scout frigate. Foresight really wants to stay at long or medium range, and you KNOW that the enemy will be gunning for your commander. Without her, your ships pop much, much more easily.

Agreed on the X wing. It doesn't need to be able to move and attack to do what it's meant to do - which is just tank for your rogues. It's especially nice if they run in and target a YT2400 and do some damage to it, and then they have to deal with the x-wing before they can finish it off. During the squadron phase you can start by flying two YT2400s in, or Dash, let them respond by attacking and doing damage, then run in with the X-wing to prevent them continuing to attack the YT's.

Thanks for the input, I like the concept of using 1 X-wing. I get to keep the same anti-fighter output but gain those curicial three points. I'm going to do that and drop the advanced projectors for Adomination (and move Foresight to the Scout). That should give me 388/400.

It's slower, but the YT-1300 does the tank job better, plus has counter for the same point value as the X-wing

True, but the way this list will play the 1300 doesn't have a donut's chance in a police station of keeping up with either the 2400s or the ships. In a list like this, speeds 3 and 4 are your friends.

I did something a little similar and went with no fighters. I don't remember all the upgrades off the top of my head but the ships were:

MC 30 scout

MC 30 torpedo, foresight

CR 90 b, Dodonnas pride

CR 90 a, tantive IV

Neb B support, redemption.

Mon mothma.

Various upgrades.

The idea was to have the extra engineering point from redemption support dodonnas pride and foresight as they rushed in for hard damage and mon mothma hide on the speed 4 CR 90 A. Then the mc 30 scout provides assistance depending on the situation. No fighters of course. I went for upgrades instead. Ordnance experts and assault protons are super helpful. Were you can use turbo reroutes on the scout to soften the guy up for the torpedo boat.
