After action report by Captain Freidrich Karl Topp, Captain ISD Tirpitz and acting commander of Task Force 27.1

First Battle at Cape Teutoborg

Accurate intelligence from B-Dienst allowed TF27.1 to deploy in a position superior to the enemy fleet's. Enemy fleet comprised of 1 MC 80, 1 AF2, 1 CR 90 and 2 Y- and X-wing squadrons. Enemy fleet attempts to enter Eisenborn operational area. Admiral Varus Motti has been advised by the Staff officers to exercise caution

Opposing Rebel Fleet made the opening moves by sending the squadrons over. Opposing Rebel fleet attempted to capitalise on their superior broadsides and formed the Ackbar Line. Radio intercepts indicated that Ackbar himself was commanding the fleet. Meanwhile, TF 27.2 continued to move line abreast

RSD Akizuki was ordered to speed ahead to launch preliminary attacks on the MC80 but was put out of action in 1 salvo. Enemy CR 90 attempted to circle around VSD Scharnhorst. VSD Scharnhorst came under intense aerial attack. With help from RSD Teruzuki, Scharnhorst managed to weather the aerial attack

ISD Tirpitz and VSD Scharnhorst were ordered to head for the MC 80. Shots fired from Gneisenau and Tirpitz proved to be ineffective. Moderate damage was done to the enemy flagship. MC 80 proceeded to fire one salvo on Teruzuki thereby crippling her. This was followed up by aerial attacks which put Teruzuki out of action.

Enemy CR 90 than pulled up and fired shots into Scharnhorst causing negligible damage. Seeing that the situation proved to be untenable, Admiral Motti Asprenus ordered TF 27.1 to jump into hyperspace thereby conceeding defeat to the Rebel Forces

Second Battle at Cape Teutoborg

TF 27.1 pulled into Station 15 for repairs and refit. This was completed in 36 hours and TF 27.1 departed for Cape Teutoborg

Reports from B-Dienst indicated that a force of 4 CR 90 and 2 AF2 would pass through Cape Teutoborg. Thanks to accurate reports, TF 27.1 was able to deploy in a superior position to the Rebel Fleet.

The CR 90 sailed up in 2 columns abreast of each other ignoring any attempts at Gneisenau's shots. Both Akizuki and Teruzuki were ordered to attack enemy AF 2 from the stern.

Using their superior speed, the Rebels stayed at the extreme range while keeping up continuous incessant fire. Shots from TF 27.1 proved to be ineffective

The Rebels kept up the running fire. Gneisenau than came under fire from both AF2 and was forced to withdraw. Seeing that TF 27.1 was unable to inflict any damage on the Rebel Fleet while sustaining damage and casualties, Admiral Asprenus retreated to the Admiral quarters. Thereafter, a loud shot was heard. An orderly was sent to investigate the cause of it and he reported that the Admiral had killed himself. Seeing that I am the most senior officer in the fleet, I assumed command and ordered TF 27.1 to fall back to regroup and make attempts to close Cape Teutoborg to further Rebel reinforcements

Captain Freidrich Karl Topp

Captain ISD Tirpitz and acting commander of Task Force 27.1

Epilogue

Owning to the failure of TF 27.1, TF 27.2 was relieved of screening duty and was ordered to Cape Teutoborg to regroup with TF 27.1. After this was done, Cape Teutoborg was closed to any incoming Rebel reinforcements. Further actions lead by Screed closed the noose at Cape Teutoborg.

Following the completion of Operation Dronier, Admiral Varus was "reassigned" to Kursk sector, Admiral Screed was commended for his actions at Cape Teutoborg and Captain Freidrich Karl Topp retained his command of ISD Tirpitz.

Operation Dronier was a success. Imperial forces were able to land on Eisenborn and clear the planet of any Rebel forces

Yes those 2 games were a disaster. 1st try in tournament and it ended disastrously

Hey mate, thanks for putting this up again too. It counts as a pretty big part of the inspiration I had to work up a similar-ish type of After Action Report. And despite the results, it was still marvellous fun to read . Thanks a million for putting it up and hope you keep on with it too. I know it makes my day a little brighter. Still love the pictures and the stylistic way you work these, mate.

Still, trust me, I can sympathize on that front. -sighs, ratty hands clutching the only battle standard he seems to be able to raise at some of these tournaments-

I got dead last in my last Store Championship, and second last in the one before that. No worries, it'll get better, and the 'swag' is usually worth it too, eh? Say, Admiral Aspernus didn't happen to leave the rum bottle in the captain's quarters by any chance, did he? I could probably go for some right about now.
