now to begin with, I'm rather unfamiliar with the Warhammer 40k universe as a whole and I only recently got the core books for both DH and RT, but I've noticed that placements and spacial relationships of the Calixis Sector and the Koronus Expanse seem to be dramatically different for the two games. In the cutaway portion of the map for both games, it places the Calixis Sector in roughly the bottom left corner of both, being a theoretical impossibility unless there are 2 Calixis Sectors. I just want to figure out exactly where on the map these places are. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
"Imperious Dominatus" map discrepancies between Dark Heresy and Rogue Trader
You do know that galaxies rotates along it's own axis, right?
Assuming you mean the galactic maps on pages 252 and 304 of Dark Heresy and Rogue Trader respectively, its just that, a slight discrepancy. There is only one Calaxis sector and it rests on that borderline (whatever it represents). Probably just a slight mistake when they were editing the image to change the featured sector in the lower left.
You could always shrug it off as an Administratum mistake.
Or deliberate misinformation spread by the Inquisition.
Or you're looking at one of those "special" charts sold to gullible newcomers on the docks of Footfall.
I think it's an issue of perspective. The enlarged images are looking at the calixis sector from different angles. Note that you can't see the Scarus sector in the RT version.
In actual fact both of those maps are misprinted and the Calaxis sector isn't in that region of space at all. Two competing departments of the Administratum have been fueding and fighting over which is the correct map for the past millenia and in spite of all the lives and man power wasted neither side as bothered to contact the Calaxis sector governance for confirmation of it's location or bothered to send a scout ship to check.

Thus proving that as anal Imperial Guard Commanders are, as uncompromising Space Marine Captains are, or as volatile Echlesiarch chaplains are, none can compare to the stubbornness of an Administratum worker in middle-management.
