Question about the Core Rulebook for SW:EotE RPG

By Trooper723, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Ok so I guess my final question and I will go ahead and do my research into Coolstuffinc and Barnes and Noble...

Where can I find the errata ? Is it here listed in this forum and I just missed it since I only read the common questions post before posting?

Thanks again, I am so hype right now to look for those books hahaha.

On the product page, it's found under the FAQ. Also, on this forum is the Developer Answered Questions thread where more things can be found.

Thank you so much.

By which, they mean you have to dig through a (9 page and counting) thread full of random little tidbits of information, to see if any of it happens to be applicable to your situation.

The official FAQ is much more helpful IMO, but it hasn't been updated since August 2015.

Thank you.

Any copy of Edge of the Empire will look identical. so E-Bay, Amazon or any FLGS who have an online store will be the same thing.

If the books don't have any of "Force and Destiny", "Age of Rebellion" or "Edge of the Empire" in the title then its not published by FFG and is therefore a completely different rules system. Only FFG printed books are compatible with the FFG system, basically they made an entirely new rules system for this edition of the Star Wars RPG. its awesome and totally worth playing!

Are you able to get a copy of the Edge of the Empire Beginner Box? it will provide a great story and more dice, always useful!

Im also assuming you know about the PDF expansion module for the Force and Destiny Beginner box? its available here

I heard that FFG had other companies print out the early copies and I was wondering if there was a distinct way to tell which is from FFG and which is from the other guys that helped them early on.

Oh course I heard all this in a couple youtube videos so I don't know how true that might be, which is why I am here asking questions lol.

Well aware of all the extra stuff I can print off of PDF from the website, I've printed out the characters, Pon and the Consular girl, can't remember her name off the top of my head. Only reason I remember Pon is because my friend is playing him and man he gets into some scuffles hahaha.

If I had to guess, I would say that they were probably talking about the Beta versions of the three books. While they were also published by FFG (as far as I know), they are not the final Core Rulebooks, even though they share the same names with them (with "Beta" added, obviously). So yeah, make sure you're getting the proper Core Rulebook and not an old copy of the beta rules.

As for errata, it can be found in the Edge of the Empire FAQ , which is accessible under "Support" on the product page. I don't think they've done one for the other two lines.

Thank you.

Just for the record I've gotten most of my materials off Amazon. I'm a prime member so it is always free shipping and they seems to randomly have FFG books at a discount. I paid less than $25 for all the source and adventure books I've picked up, and same goes for the two beginners games. I think I picked up the core rule book for around $40, and that's about what I paid for Age as well. For example I could get Edge of the Empire for $42.92 plus free shipping. These prices blow away any retailer in my area, but there could still be other sites where you can get a better deal, even if they include shipping. You'd just have to shop around. I'm really hoping they do some prime sales when they release the SW: FA blu-ray, for star wars related stuff!

You make me sick.

Lol, what did he do?

Point of order...or two.

While I have nothing against purchasing gaming stuff online (Heck, I've bought more than a few things from various online shops), unless the web store has some Insanely Insane Discounts going, you really aren't going to save much. While the web store may knock, lets say $10 off the MSRP, you usually pay about that in shipping costs. Yes, I know that Amazon has its Prime deals, or whatever, but we will treat that as an exception. So, your book costs $10 less than MSRP...but shipping may cost $10 or more (depending on how fast you want it) and THEN you have to wait for the order to process...for the shipper to pick up the book...delivery times to your city...delivery to your front door... In the end, you may have 'saved' some money, only to spend it on shipping, and then get to hurry up and wait for it. Meanwhile, your Local Game Shoppe just got a new shipment in, and the book you want is sitting on the shelf, all shiny and new.

And I heard an interesting rumor, this past weekend. FFG will be sending Star Wars RPG stuff to actual B&M stores, now. During a game session at a game shoppe, the store owner was bemoaning that there are new hoops for him to jump through to prove to FFG that Yes, he is an actual shop, and No, he is not an online retailer. If its true, it could mean that Amazon may or may not be able to sell Star Wars RPG stuff. Dont know if its true or not...its just third-hand information that I got wind of. Your mileage may vary.

I live in a backwards city that doesn't have a local game store. Lol.... Online is my online choice and I am not in any rush during the work week to get my items. I do think about it all day at work but I game on the weekend so it's not a big deal to wait. Hope that clears some things up.

Thank you everyone for your posts they were all helpful and I have since received my rulebooks from Cool Stuff Inc. . :D

I wish I could post an image of my corebooks I took but it only accepts URL's :( and I am not going to setup an account somewhere that hosts images online. Lol. Just trust me when I say all of us over here are excited as hell for the coming weekend. :D

Printing out a nice color printing of "Edge of the Empire FAQ & Errata" is much easier and more preferred when compared to sifting through tons of forum posts, organizing it, and all while doing this in a timely manner before game night.... Hahaha Thanks again for the Edge of the Empire FAQ & Errata.

And keep a notepad handy during the game so you can make all the notes of "What the hell does that mean!", so you can come here and ask us to explain things.
