HERE'S YOUR CHANCE, FFG

By Boba Rick, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Old Decipher used to allow players to mail in cards that were misprinted and they would mail out the new version. I wonder if I contact FFG would they do the same?

I will try and post back

Rogue they do if you actually have a misprint but you don't have misprint. You have a card which was printed the way it was when you bought it. Just because they got an errata does not mean you have a misprint.

The tournament kit contains 17 royal guard deployment cards. The average tournament attendance right now is between 4-8 players. EBay is going to be flooded with these cards for <$5 a piece, I guarantee it.

Can you just buy a tournament kit as a normal dude or do you have to own a store or something?

You do have to own a store or have a business license number. Individuals cannot order tournament kits. The kits on eBay are from store owners selling them, which they really aren't allowed to do, but no one is enforcing that.

Is there some kind of Wave 1 Police to enforce that? :-P

Yes there is... the shops would risk to loose their flagship store status... that's why Germany is split again. ;-)

I still don't have enough context to understand what you guys are talking about with the IA thing in Germany. You're just generating extra questions really :-p What's a 'flagship store' and who, why and on what grounds awards that 'status'?

In my case, as the only person to show up for a store tourney, the store owner was kind enough to hook me up with a bunch of extra AA Bantha cards. Mine haven't hit eBay, just saying that not all the listings are FLGS owners flipping stuff that's technically not for resale.

Talk to your LGS, mine said any kit I want they will order as long as I cover the cost of it, and then I can recoup by hosting the tournament at their store, or just eat the cost and take what I want from the kit.

They have an old kit sitting there from the fall still for $25 I was considering trying to host a demo night at 5 bucks a guy and after we cover cost putting the proceeds towards the summer kit.

So, the solution now to amend cards is to rewrite them? Have you done it?

I'm not involved with the German tournament scene in any way... I live in America for one... but since no one else is answering you I'll try. Just know I may have some details a little off:

"What is a flagship store?" My understanding is that a flagship store refers to a store that FFG has chosen for officially sanctioned tournaments.

"Who" Fantasy Flight Games

"Why" To ensure proper qualifications for winners of tournaments on the Regional, National, and World Championship levels of tournament. If they aren't at all choosy about what store can run a tournament, then there could be all kinds of cheating.

"On what grounds" They make the game, they make the rules.

Royal Guards are in Spring kit

Sabs are in Summer Kit

This does not help someone who only plays the campaign with friends.

You don't need the updated cards, if you just play the campaign... campaign play wasn't the reason for the errata.

Yet campaign play improved a lot with the errata. There is one side mission featureing the Sabs and it had ~90% winrate for the rebels. Royal Guards were the best choice in most missions, now they only make sense if you need to guard something.
