HERE'S YOUR CHANCE, FFG

By Boba Rick, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Okay FFG, all of us were annoyed that we couldn't buy new cards when you did the big errata on Royal Guards, Sabs, and Imperial Officers.

Could you please include the new corrected cards in the Bespin expansion?

That would be super-fantabulous, and you know it's not a lot to ask.

I would agree that'd be nice.

But it's unlikely. Also they seem to be settled on the tournament kits being their mode of distribution for the fixed cards.

That would be rather nice. I think it's great they're willing to take that step but they really need to make it easier for people to get the updated cards then they have so far.

Unfortunately the expansion is probably already being mass manufactured and adding stuff to it would cause a hell of a mix up and delay it's release.

It would be nice to get the updated cards... but I honestly don't really care... I've printed out the updates on my printer, and slipped them into the sleeves with the original card. Colour too, so it looks close enough, and it readable, and my rebels don't know what I have in my reserve, because you can't tell the difference from the back.

I also give them an option to pick if they want to play with or without the errata - but they don't get to cherry-pick. its all or nothing. So either the Sabs and Royal Guards are both the old version, or both the new version.

Skirmish will always be new version of course.

You don't need the updated cards, if you just play the campaign... campaign play wasn't the reason for the errata.

I thought the changes to the Royal Guards and Rebel Sabs also applied to campaign play.

That is a reasonable temporary solution but I would still like to see updated cards added to a future expansion.

If you want updated cards, support your community and show up to organized play. The game is dying because players aren't supporting OP, which is what brings new players into the community.

There will be a future box with the updated cards. It will be the reprinted Core Box.

What if you don't have access to organized play?

This^^^^

But in additional to that, say you do attend an event and you get 1 copy of the errata card? Virtually every list that plays with the errata cards needs more than 1 of these cards, imperial officers tend to come in groups of 3 or 4, Royal guards tend to be a 4 of (though see les play now than they did before) Sabs is usually at least 2 elite with possibly 1-2 regulars as well.

I'm surprised they haven't added them to their print on demand service, I'm sure there are player groups that would happily pay to get errata cards to play with.

i think the main problem comes from skirmish play anyways, so i don't think it's really going to effect your campaign play

Tell that to Europe players who are still playing core box and wave 1 because of the botched release politics. It's a bit bette with FAQ 2.0 now, but in reality, I can't see myself going to any more tournaments now that I know how much better the game plays with RTH and all the goodies that probably won't be legal in the european tournament scene for another year.

Wow, I'm in South Africa, and our releases are almost the same time as USA. Is it because of translations?

Though I doubt we'll see the errata cards here, I haven't seen much skirmish action around here, most folk are obsesses with either XWing/Armada or Magic.

I'm in Poland, which should still be Europe up til today (the way things are going I have to check that daily), and here we're simply enjoying the English product and not worrying about it. The Polish versions are as delayed as every other language edition, but barely anyone plays with them, partly because of the delays and partly because the translations are pretty rubbish. We even had a couple Alliance Smugglers come out last Store, and I'm contemplating taking the Bantha for next Store on Sunday.

I'd go out on a limb and say it's less of a globally Europe thing and more of a German distributor thing? Aren't there any distributors to bring in English editions of the expansions?

Can you pm me with the locations and times of championships?

The english products are readily available in stores in Germany. And then there is eBay. That's not the problem.

The problem is that the english stuff does not become tournament legal before the german versions hit the shelves. There are exceptions for GNK-Tournaments but everything called Championship is still in Wave 1. This is boring as hell.

Actually we have 2 Metas right now: The Championships (Wave 1) and GNK / casual (Wave 5).

Now I'm slightly confused. If no one wants to play Wave 1 only, whose idea/decision/edict/decree is to play only Wave 1? Is there some kind of Wave 1 Police to enforce that? :-P

Yes there is... the shops would risk to loose their flagship store status... that's why Germany is split again. ;-)

I think an easier fix would just be to put the revised cards in game kits indefinitely as door prizes. All of them in any kits coming out for the next year. That way if you attend an event, you can get the full compliment of revised cards you need. Now, that doesn't mean a billion extras for everyone, but no need to go to a winter and summer event just to get cards that you should have gotten in the first place.

I don't want to pay extra for these cards to appear in future expansions and I don't want to have to buy future expansions to make the old material feel complete. And potentially this could alleviate people having to go to multiple events if they barely have a skirmish fan base in their area.

The Royal Guards definitely needed to be nerfed in campaign mode. They are right where they need to be now.
