Bespin!

By Crabbok, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Cool setting, cool tiles, interesting heroes and allies/villains. The enemies look very underwhelming though.

I really hoped we get a full campaign expansion set in a city, because that's the one general setting missing so far from story missions.

I guess I will pass on this, although I really like the setting and maptiles. But since they will only be featured in 4-5missions (?) it's not a big deal anyway. For now only the 2 heroes are really intriguing to me, but I guess I won't buy this box just for the heroes.

As a whole these small expansions really seem to make little sense for campaign play, or does anyone think otherwise and actually like this format (for campaign play)?

My body is ready. My wallet is ready. Just hook it to my veins.

I'd assume that these mini campaigns take relatively little time to make. So it's either one of these with new tiles, heroes, ect... Or one new full campaign a year or so.

Making a box like this doesn't really push out the full campaign box by much. But it does have the downside of meaning you're unlikely to see a full blown campaign for those worlds anytime soon.

I love the mini-campaigns. It's much easier for me to complete one with my busy lifestyle.

Perhaps I phrased this badly, but I wanted to say that I personally find these small box expansions not very interesting for campaign play and wanted to know if someone has a different take on them.

I also really hoped the next campaign would involve cities. Somehow I'm not really stoked for a new jungle tile set (because we already have those kind of tiles in the core box) and I guess Endor is now the most likely setting for the new campaign.

I'm just glad I didn't paint my trandoshan's to look like Bossk.

Me too!

nuts. i painted mine bossk like

I got through Twin Shadows in a couple weeks.

I still haven't finished the core campaign.... (2 missions left!!!)

im not that interested in the bespin campaign this time, the heroes look cool and maybe the only tempting offer, though it is a mini campaign. i have had big success with the mini campaigns . i am a fan of Bossk and ISB agents. they look badass

This is a totally customizable game. If you don't like Jedi, then play without them. If you don't like Sandtroopers? Play without them. If you want ONLY Hoth-themed miniatures on the board? You're in luck!

that's how i play. it is a customizable game.

I'm playing though the Twin Shadows missions right now and we're all enjoying it. In some ways it's more fun the the full ones, because you can get through them fairly quickly and then do something else.

To me it's a question of value. Is the amount of value you get with the mini campaign worth the price?

Can anyone see if the ISB guys are unlocked like Hired Guns, or do they have to be earned?

They get a reward card that gives the Imperial player a 'class' ability, so they're probably unlocked from the get-go.

Speaking of which, isn't Subversive Tactics supposed to revolve around ISB? Yet these infiltrators have no synergy with it.

Those are also one of the nicer sculpts for the game I've seen. I really dig the armor on them. But is it just me or do they have really big/bushy eyebrows.

Their armor seems to be inspired by Agent Kallus's armor, who is also an ISB agent.

Kallus obviously has the best 'burns in the galaxy. If these guys have bushy brows, maybe there's some sort of inside thing in the ISB about outrageous facial hair.

I can't wait to get that Agent Blaise figure an 'adjust' the model to have a raised middle finger. FFG really missed a trick with that!

That's good, Subversive Tactics is good enough already. After playing one campaign with that deck we agreed never to do that again. It makes the game unfun and borderline unfair for the heroes.

However, the ISBs are definetly the most lackluster part of this wave - they don't bring anything new or interesting to the table and don't seem that strong. Unless elites have some really cool extra ability or there's some kind of insane 2-dot Spy command card somewhere in this Wave, they might be the first non-unique pack I only get one of.

Oh wait, there'll be a regular and an elite allowed in campaign play. So still two packs. Drat.

That said, an Imp combat unit with a white die is certainly a first, so at least there's that.

Other than better surges and extra HP, the elties only get an ability that has to do with defense results. My guess is they get bonus anti-surge or block when hidden.

Did I kick your puppy or something, or do you treat everyone like this?

I'm saying that most people will look at a character with a lightsaber that can use the force and call that person a jedi. Because for most people Jedi is shorthand for force user with a light saber.

And I'm trying to trick no one into anything. I used the term Jedi in a loose sense of the word, but apparently that offends you. Which is honestly not my problem. But if it bugs you that much feel free to put me on ignore.

Edit: If this was a thread discussing what is or isn't required to be a Jedi, or even a discussion of canon/lore, then I'd likely be more concerned about using the term Jedi... But it's not, so I'm not.

More nonsense...

Make up your mind. First you reply to Patrick that having a lightsaber in hand doesnt make one a Jedi like you wrote about Luke and after that you wrote that a figure/illustration with someone holding a lightsaber is a Jedi...

Again were not most people. Were fans... right?

Most people see a F-16 and call it a plane. Those who know (either aircraft fans or pilots) call a it at minimum a military multirole aircraft.

and Im not even going to comment the animal agression...

Bossk is fast approaching to be the best Scum character IMO. The more I know the more I want to use him in my campaign.

Wow, Bossk embarrasses IG-88 in terms of power, despite the latter being 150% of the cost. Passive +2 damage, AoE secondary attack that ignores defensive dice and can hand out strain, passive Recover, passive negative condition removal etc. Ignoring the difference in mobility he might be better than Boba Fett.

FFG is finally getting around to making uniques worth their points

For those who are good at cutting and gluing, and want to make Agent Blaise be in full scout trooper armor, you could just cut off the head of the E-WEB turret scout trooper and the head of Agent Blaise, glue the removed scout trooper helmet onto Agent Blaise, and boom. You've got him in full armor.

That still leaves you with an extra helmet in Blaise's arm though. And a headless E-WEB gunner.

Can anyone see if the ISB guys are unlocked like Hired Guns, or do they have to be earned?

Ya, the theme is that non-unique units for the imperial player can be used as open groups from the get go (hired guns/bantha rider/ISB enforcers).

Which is a good thing for sure but leaves IG-88 in the dust :(

I think those ISB guys look pretty cool.

WHERE THE HECK IS LOBOT!!!!!

Great announcements, great content, great thread except all of the trolling. Why do you guys keep feeding him and why haven't the admins removed his toxic but yet?

Take your tilted opinion to Facebook.

I think this is the best looking expansion to date visually, and with Lando and Bossk it is really hard to beat.. like Boba was awesome to but comeon... Lando AND Bossk?

Loving the Rebels reference as well, little foreshadowing?

Anyone else thinking about cutting of the head of agent Blaise and cutting the helmet out and gluing it on? Then maybe boiling some water to move the fist arm and move it down to his side? think that would work?
