I'm going to run the Ugnaughts with Punishing Strike. Then create an army of droids that can stun on the right roll.
Muahahaha!
Bespin!
But ANOTHER jedi? You've got to be kidding... each new jedi they introduce just kills the uniqueness/importance of Luke
Luke isn't a Jedi in this era. But the idea that Luke was the only Jedi running around during this time was both stupid and no longer really backed up by canon. The mere idea that the Empire could eliminate all Jedi is beyond nonsense and always was a major plot hole in the OT.
The Emperor can't simply detect force users unless they actually do something with the force. So the only way Vader could find them to hunt them down is if they actually do something. Even then in a place the size of the galaxy there's so many places to hide that the idea of only two of them making it is just ridiculous.
Also the new Imperial villian's figure looks ugly.
I do agree about that, and the wing guard being merc's when Lando is a rebel doesn't make much sense either.
can an Ugnaught have only one droid companion at a time or lots?
The card text says "the Junk droid" not a junk droid.
Everything about all of this is exciting for me. I, like others have said, don't like the Blaise's sculpt, but that's the only quibble I have about this announcement.
So excited!
PS. And dear god I hope the next expansion isn't Rebels themed, I don't know how much more disappointment I can take.
That's okay. My excitement will more than cancel out your disappointment.
And if that's the case, can I have your stuff?
F***ing lame...
So disappointing. And its starting to become a trend with this game.
Ok you've peaked my curiosity.
Bossk, Lando, another character with a lightsaber! Lando even has a skirmish mission that takes you to Lothal! (Which is huge for obvious reasons). And this announcement is nearly a month earlier than anticipated!
What were you hoping for, that you might be so disappointed?
Bossk is fine. Lando is fine (though I question why he can join the rebellion BEFORE Empire Strikes Back and if he is a rebel why are his guard's not?) But ANOTHER jedi? You've got to be kidding... each new jedi they introduce just kills the uniqueness/importance of Luke and makes the OT closer and closer to the trash that was the prequel trilogy. By the time IA takes place the jedi are supposed to be extinct and super rare... but now we have TWO jedi heroes, as if Diala didn't break the lore already. It sure is funny that during the whole OT not once were these other jedi mentioned. Luke probably wouldn't have had to travel across half the galaxy to get any training or he probably would've brought these two with him to train under the greatest jedi ever. How are we honestly to believe this takes place alongside the movies when they keep breaking the immersion and lore like this?
Then theres the Wing Guards who from a lore stand point shouldn't be used anywhere but Bespin. Also theres the fact that these guys who work for Lando in the movies apparently don't work for him in the game and will even be shooting at him.
Also the new Imperial villian's figure looks ugly. He looks as non-combative as Leia's figure... he's basically in a pose saying "Next time Gadget next time!" and not actually doing anything in a battle. Not sure why they had to take his helmet off...
PS. And dear god I hope the next expansion isn't Rebels themed, I don't know how much more disappointment I can take.
Hmmm,
First off, I don't believe we are intended to believe that this game takes place during the movies. Ever do the Luke Skywalker mission? I don't recall 4 random heroes in A New Hope, helping Luke get into his T-16, narrowly escaping Darth Vader. This is just a game, and isn't tied to the movies. It isn't taking place WITH the movies. It has nothing to do with Immersion in the movies- else you couldn't EVER have anyone from the films. You can't KILL Darth Vader.. because he needs to die at the end of ROTJ! It's just a game that is inspired by the movies and gives you freedom to re-make YOUR experience however you like. If you want to play in a world without extra Jedi, then so be it - go with 4 gun-toting heroes. If you prefer to play in a world where maybe a few extra Jedi survived, (or their teachings did), then play with 1 or 2 force users.
Giving players extra options is ALWAYS a good thing, even if you personally, would rather not use one of those options.
And I'm really sorry that you don't like SW Rebels. I thought it was going to be stupid originally, but I forced myself to watch it and now I'm in love with it. I hope you'll give it another try. It's really got a lot going for it.
Well... some (or most?) of us got it right in guessing what was next in IA. I suppose it was easy. Bespin with Lando (already a Rebel?!?! - that was fast) and Bossk but im surprised we get another force user for the heroes though the infiltrators theme makes sense... in a way (according to the old EU).
Expected some Lobot like hero instead of another force user.
BTW I dont see anyhere written that the new hero is a Jedi. Being a force user doesnt make it a Jedi.
This is a totally customizable game. If you don't like Jedi, then play without them. If you don't like Sandtroopers? Play without them. If you want ONLY Hoth-themed miniatures on the board? You're in luck!
Bossk, I am so glad, the rest I will get for sure. But Bossk, he's the best.
Guys.
Guys...
You can run
4x ughnaught tinkerer
4x hired gun with last resort
I call it "the expendables"
PS. And dear god I hope the next expansion isn't Rebels themed, I don't know how much more disappointment I can take.
That's okay. My excitement will more than cancel out your disappointment.
And if that's the case, can I have your stuff?
Youll get his stuff by the time Endor comes out... when Emperor Palpatine is announced

Well by and large, IA isn't canon so they can do pretty much whatever they want I think, although as I mentioned in a Armada thread everything has to be approved by LFL/Disney. So they apparently are ok with Jedi and such in this era.
But your point about Vader, the only story he appears in, he's not actually killed IIRC. So other than him being included in a open group or something, you don't in terms of the narrative only face him once.
Being a force user doesnt make it a Jedi.
Rebel force user with a green saber? He's a Jedi.

If you want to dig in the dumpster for it you can have it.

No its not. Its just an illustration... eye candy for players.
So Finn is already a Jedi just because he tries to use a lightsaber????
Edited by KentaresGood lord, Bossk is going to be hard to kill. A guaranteed block vs every attack and he regenerates 2 damage at the end of every round!!!

Of course they are ok with new jedi. Jedi are what get the kids excited and are big money magnets. Just look at the prequels, clone wars, rebels... Jedi sell things and they know it. Lore be damned, just throw in more jedi! They couldv've easilly made this new guy a non-jedi infiltrator. A man who would have to rely on skill and training instead of the Force. I would gladly have taken the 'normal' man instead of another jedi.

I ran into him in the Luke Skywalker side mission, and in another mission where we had to take and hold an imperial facility, and on like the 2nd to last turn Vader shows up. I'm pretty sure he's also going to show up in the final mission from the core game, but I've never actually finished a campaign so not sure how the finale is supposed to go down.
But yeah either way, weather it's an open group, a custom campaign, or just a skirmish you can effectively kill off MAIN characters and not expect it to ruin the canon of your movie experience.
And BTW Han Solo also used a lightsaber and he is no Jedi.

Diala isn't a jedi. just a force sensitive exile.
Ahsoka isn't a jedi during Rebels (she even says so).
Possessing a lightsaber and being force sensitive does not a Jedi make.
No its not. Its just an illustration... eye candy for players.
I'm not sure if that's a joke or? Because he needs a melee weapon to use his special ability and the model clearly is holding a lightsaber.
So Finn is a Jedi just because he tries to use a lightsaber????
No because he tries and doesn't do a very good job of it, he also isn't force sensitive. But I guess a lot of it depends on what you consider a Jedi. Is a Jedi any light side force user or only those recognized by the Jedi Console?
But arguing that point is for lore discussions, because just about anyone who see's that model is going to call him a Jedi.
Star Wars and Light Sabers go together like peanut butter and lamb. Maybe Spaghetti and Meatball, if you are more comfortable with that analogy?
I think the new force user not only looks cool, but it a nice addition to the game. I was in 'Pat's field for a long time, but Star Wars Rebels got me over the whole extra force user things. Plus, Deflect in Skirmish is totally stylish.
I agree that Blaise would look super cool if his helmet was on. That said, I dig his beefy look. Him and Kayn will have to go bowling... for Rebels! I just hope they do a mini for Luke's cool Bespin/Training Uniform.
Jedi sell things and they know it. Lore be damned, just throw in more jedi!
George was the first one to throw lore under the bus in the name of merchandizing. So if you have an issue with that, you have the same issues with it being done in the OT right?
I would gladly have taken the 'normal' man instead of another jedi.
Good for you I guess, but I like seeing another force user in the game, and guess what... My opinion is every bit as valid as yours.
Ithorian- my absolute fave (I hope he doesn't suck)
Lando- *with the awesome cape*
Bossk -You guys remember months ago when I said Bossk should regenerate? **NAILED IT!**
Random Force User -I'm withholding my judgment until I see his character mission. If he *starts with a light saber, that's gonna be an issue.
Random Imperials -I dont know anything about these guys, not really exciting.
It is odd, this is the first expansion without any stock imperials in the box. I'm pretty sure the bespin guys are scum too. That a first.
Grevious was really talented with lightsabers.
Jedi Grevious! ha ha!
Jedi sell things and they know it. Lore be damned, just throw in more jedi!

Good for you I guess. I don't remember asking for your opinion though.
EDIT: You know what, yes I do have issues with it as a problem in the OT, cause that is the reason why we have ewoks and the shitstorm they brought into Star Wars.
Edited by patrickmahanmy feelings on the expansion.
