Bespin!

By Crabbok, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Yea patrick I've seen you post in a lot of other threads your opinion is always welcome even if it contradicts my own. A lot of your posts make me stop and think and I like that. But when you get aggressive and especially speak in absolutes like the other side is an idiot for believing other wise, well that is when people get irritated.

We've got a good small community here so we can definitely keep things civil and still have great debates. I've found on the message boards I post on when you can post within the rules and promote an atmosphere where the Mods don't ever have to step in to do their job you will facilitate the best discussions.

I don't see any trolling here. I personally hate "Trolling" it's an active way to punish people for caring, and instead promote them to Apathy. It's also often used as a way for someone to pretend they are apathetic and then berate someone for caring after the "troll" obviously cared in the first place.

Don't be apathetic, apathy is disgusting. Care about things, I see a lot of people on here who care. Patrick cares about old EU and the imperials, while others care about the new Canon and Mercs, and then there's those weird Rebel guys... I dunno about them.

Different opinions are good, but don't attack others for their opinions. I will say that in the new age of Star Wars you might need to accept that the old EU won't be represented in most any content and have to find a way to be okay with that, I hope.

Whoa, whoa, whoa..... let's not try to be a voice of reason here when there's DRAMA to be had!!!

Well that's different. Its like someone is intentionally *not throwing gasoline on the fire.

You might even say "Apathy is death."

To further bring more hatred to this forum, I do not think we will be seeing a Jabba's Palace box. My reasons:

so far all of the boxes have been set in a movie location, shortly after the movie. If we were to get a J P expansion set then, we would not have a Rancor or Jabba so what's the point all we would be getting is Gamoreans. If it were set before the movie, It would have to have time restrictions stopping at four, otherwise it would not be very fulfilling to go to Jabba's Palace and not have anything to do with Han. So this is what would have to be the case with a JP expansion. I see it as unlikely and would find it much more likely that we get an expansion for a new Crime Lord's palace.

Are we not getting to Bespin before the Rebels?

Because isn't Lando gone when they leave to rescue Han?

I think they will do endor next seem logical if you seen the last boxes large small large small ... Large :)

There really isn't all that much to add for an Endor set to make a big box, IMO. My hope/wish is that it will be an 'Underworld theme', in which you start at Jabba's Palace investigating a mercenary tie, and then follow that plot offworld to coruscant or some other city planet. Main tiles would be jabba's throne room, rancor pit, reuse a lot of tattooine/desert tiles, maybe a city themed turbolift depo or some such setting.

Jabba's Palace would certainly be cool. I just wonder how it'd tie into the narrative. Since the stories they're crafting fit well within the established stories of the films.

Going to Jabba's palace and causing a ruckus as the Rebellion before Luke and Leia and Lando show up could feel odd if not done right.

Endor feels more inevitable than Jabba's Palace to me. Ewoks. Scout Troopers. Endor bunker interior. Could take place in the aftermath of the battle as there were still Imperials on the moon to mop up.

I demand built to scale trees that I can suspend logs from to OKHO AT-STs.

I'd love a Jabba's Palace set and a Rancor mini, but it's difficult to say how likely that is. Seems really redundant to a lot of Twin Shadows, unfortunately. And how many MORE desert tiles do we need? It can't overlap any tiles from TS, as the tiles' have primarily a campaign function. They will not assume that campaign players have bought every previous big box. Consider that all Return to Hoth and RtH blister maps use only tiles from the Core Set and RtH, when there are certainly indoor tiles from Twin Shadows that those sets could easily make use of, such as those on spacecraft. Bespin could also backtrack to RtH, but it's unlikely, just as Expansion 4 is unlikely to backtrack to 1-3. This means we'd get a new stack of desert tiles in addition to the indoor palace tiles, and it would be the biome with the largest tile count but a large margin.

Yes, I'd love to get some Gamorreans, a Rancor and some cool palace and dungeon tiles. Do I think its a certainly? Not quite. We'll get Endor, but Jabba's Palace could go either way.

Maybe they arrive during the time frame when Lando and Leia are under cover, so we help them out with a few things and were out of there before Luke arrives.

We can have a small expansion that is both Endor and Jabba as we already have lots of desert and forest tiles. The rancor can be a scum pack. The only thing that really needs to go in there are scout bikes, a base entry tile, a pleasure barge and pleasure palace tile and if they want to get really creative maybe a few tree walkway tiles.

Everyone has good points. To me we could start at Hutta (homeworld to the Hutts), then go to Nar Shadda (gambling/underbelly of the galaxy), and then finally get to hit Jabba's Palace before Leia/Chewie shows up. The whole premise is trying to find where Han Solo is at and maybe even discover where Jabba's Palace is at. Could even do the whole follow Boba Fett for half the story as we track/tail him.

The suggestion I posted a few before yours was that since Jabba is an interplanetary gangster, visiting his palace could have all sorts of non-Han Solo related purposes, namely gaining information. The Clone Wars movie went to Jabba's palace for this reason, so I see no reason that the game could not. "You have received information that Jabba's mercenaries are being used by the empire to _________, go there and investigate," 2-3 missions to break in and get info followed by "The information you recovered from Jabba's palace indicates that a group of mercenaries on Coruscant plan to ________, go there and stop them." You can build most of the palace using the core set, with a couple locale specific large tiles to add flair. Seems like a decent plot to me.

They could make a endor/jabba set. endor the two dont have all that much locations in the movie so thats also a option.

Or we could see some original locations.

Shocking I know.

We need one last trip to tatooine, I need me a named tusken character to lead my squad and now we've got ugnaughts we need jawa's so that we can have a scrap wars skirmish mission.

How about an Endor set with a Gorax, giant spider, and Sanyassan Marauders?

No? Well, okay then.

I second this motion.

We need a storm trooper on a dewback or IA didn't happen.

Any idea why Gambit doesn't show up as "upcoming?"
