I'm looking to run a dual bantha list and was wondering what to add to it.
I was thinking of 2 HKs, beast tamer, devious scheme, and then either Gideon or hired guns.

I have been wanting to rock a dual bantha list ever since I saw them but trying to build a round them is the problem.
I'm thinking 2 x Bantha, temp aliance, Gideon, C-3PO, 2 x Elite Rebel Sabs both with Targeting Computer.
You lose the beast tamer upgrade but Sabs are so much cheaper than HK's yet still have priority Targeting
You can only bring 2 rebel units in with temp alliance. I had considered 2 e-sabs with temp alliance along with the 2 banthas but couldn't find anything after that.
9-bantha
9-bantha
1-beast tamer
1-temp alliance
7-esab
7-esab
That leaves 6 points and my other concern was the sabs accuracy with a bantha in front of them, plus blast wouldn't be as valuable when it would be hitting the banthas as well.
I'd also considered elite echo base troopers but was worried about them getting close enough to use the red dice. I feel like the other units need to be able to shoot at a pretty good range to stay out of the way of the banthas which is why regular HKs seem pretty nice. 3 attack dice and the ability to reroll seems pretty good. The other thing I had considered was taking punishing strike to turn HK weaken into stun and then adding last resort to the banthas. I'll be trying out a list Friday night and taking it to a store championship Saturday so that should be a good trial by fire.
Beast Tamer is a must have with dual banthas.
This is what i was gonna run. Gideon is jus too good. focus the hks and move the banthas.
2 bantha
beast tamer
elite hk
hired guns
temp alliance
gideon
smuggler
I ran the following which was good fun:
Bantha
Bantha
E Nexu
Tuskens
Hirden guns
Gideon
Temp Alliance
Punishing strike
Beast Tamer
Focus the nexu and charge with beast tamer and pounce for extra damage and stun from punishing strike instead of bleed. ![]()
The only thing better than 2 Banthas? 2 MORE BANTHAS!
Funny enough, you can take 2 Banthas with Wiess and while you lose Beast Tamer, you can command them anywhere on the board with the use of an action while you hold a hallway with Wiess's impressive guns.
AHahahaha, I'm so going to have to play that at least once.

Weiss - 16
Imperial Officer - 2
Imperial Officer - 2
Temp Alliance - 2
Bantha - 9
Bantha - 9
=40pts.
Sick and wrong.
I honestly think
Weiss - 16
Elite Stormtroopers - 9
Elite Imperial Officer - 2
Temp Alliance - 1
Bantha - 9
=40pts.
Is a valid way to go. You have use for Wiess' command card and a silly amount of reinforcements, complete destructive control of two points on the board with Bantha and Wiess, and big firepower for stronger single units that Banthas have trouble with.
played 2 skrims with 2 banths, e hk, hire gun, gid and c3po.
Play 2 luke leia teams, one with sab and the other with e hoth troopers.
Lost both games but one was close.
A few things i noticed with 2,
you can't rush in, they need backup. The twins jus took it down too fast with help from the fodder but its so hard to resist sending it in first.
on average trample will hit 2-3 targets and do 2 dmg. dmg is great vs the fodder but the heroes and bigger units that is just a scratch and when activate they will beat the crap outta ya. LOS to enemy units is not a big deal so the hk elites are prob not needed. What happens alot is you can trap an enemy unit between your bantha and your range guys. Beast tamer is also a must i think. Its just soo good. Gideon also helped with command cards early which you need so badly very early in the game.
I think the way to go might be 1 bantha and some nexu support.
I ended up winning the store championship with 2 banthas, 2 regular HKs, and Gideon. There were three of us who showed up and the other two it was their first time playing skirmish, so I don't think it was a good test. The first game was against the Twins and I won 24-22 I believe. I think I would have lost if he had a little more experience. I also had bad card draws and was in position for a huge trample when he played take initiative at the start of the second round so it was some bad luck but I still think against a twins list it's going to be tough. The second player ran a thematic list of Han, Chewie, Luke, and R2. That one wasn't close. I also got lucky with card draws that time which made it even worse. The HKs made short work of Chewie and then the banthas went to work on Han and Luke.
The banthas did what I thought they would but a focused HK is what impressed me the most. Those things can lay a serious hurt on something from range. I put 8 damage on Chewie and it was even sweeter when he rolled the dodge and I made him reroll it. I rolled even better against Luke but he rolled a double dodge which was pretty is fun to see. Rerolls seem to be one of those things I never forget. I think because I usually think "man I wish I could reroll that" and then realize I can.
It was a fun day. I'm hoping it leads to more organized play in the area.
The Weiss build could be fun to try out.
I tried out the 2x Bantha, 2x HK's, Gideon Beast tamer list. Its fun! If you really, REALLY hate the white die, this is the list for you. Focus whatever you can, Crush things with Bantha, giggle incessantly. I went 1-2 in a tournament and all the games were close, but it wasn't a good test because I hadn't ever played the list. I just charged in.
Have patience, send in the banthas when you have backup for them, the twins will rip you apart with all the rerolls and extra attacks. BUt holy hell its fun!

And fun is, of course, what it's all about.
I definitely loved the fact that banthas just pushed damage through and the HKs forced rerolls. I had the issue with the twins eating up a bantha pretty quickly but by the time that had happened I think it had soaked up enough damage and dished out enough that it paid for its 9 points. The other one was able to get into a similar position and start finishing off the units that were already damaged from the first. After the second moved in at nearly full health it pretty much forced everyone to scatter if they wanted to live.
