Mos Shuuta

By CMDR Canum, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Having purchased the CRB and not the Beginner Kit is there a way to download or purchase the Mos Shuuta adventure seperately?

I have searched the forums a bit for this question so if it's redundant, please direct me to a link.

Thank you.

A $30 purchase of the Beginner game will also get you a $15 set of dice. So, if the adventure is worth $15 to you (it was to me, as I've run it about 5 or 6 times now), then it'll be worth buying the Beginners Game.

Honestly, it's not much of an adventure. Oh sure, it's great for learning the system and it walks you through all the vital game mechanics you need, but as a game? Pretty basic and linear. Have an encounter with some thugs from the Hutt that's hunting you, negotiate with a shopkeeper for a starship part, another encounter to try out the minion rules with Stormtroopers, a sneaky/con encounter at spaceport control, a fight with a Nemesis at the hanger bay and then vehicle combat as the players flee the planet.

There. That's your entire adventure in a nutshell.

And really, if you cant find the game for 20 bucks online, you're not trying hard enough.

You know, even though it's a simple, railroad-y, beginning adventure, for some reason, the characters really hit home for a lot of people. I've mentioned this before in other posts, but everyone I've run Mos Shuuta through falls in love with their pre-gen. One guy in my group now made a twi-lek because he loved Oskara. My nephew pretty much only creates technicians because he loved playing Malthus. And this one guy who I ran the adventure with three years ago at a local con has come up to me twice in the intervening years to take a another look at Sasha, and he didn't even finish the game. The other two beginner games' pre-gen's don't seem to have the same universal appeal as the ones for EotE.

Oh, agree totally. It has the best setting, the best characters, the best story (such as it is) and the best follow up game*. If I could only buy one beginner set, hands down it would be Edge.

*Mind you, I've only skimmed the followup for AoR, so this opinion may change here in a couple of weeks when I actually run it.

I'd also like to suggest you pick the beginner game up! The fact that it comes with dice, just makes it a steal in my opinion and the tokens are great to have as well (I don't know how many times I've used those Gamorrean tokens). Don't forget you, can also run player made characters through it as well, just give them some obligation to Teemo!

Unfortunately the dice have no meaning for me. The game I will play with my kids I'll use the app and I'll be playing a Roll20 game with friends from around the world. I'm making my own campaign for my friends, but was looking for an official one to play with my kids. Think I now have enough of a feel for what Mos Shuuta contains to wing it as we start with Long Arm.

Thank you all.
