Anyone know if there are plans to include the Gunboat or Missileboat from the TIE Fighter video game? I was a fan of those when I was a kid and, since they included the TIE Defender, I think it would be cool.

Fingers crossed. We know Wave 9 is "done" and Wave 10 is "well underway", but we also know there are a couple of ships from Force Awakens still out there, Rogue One is on the horizon and who knows what we might see in Rebels.
They're probably going to go Kids/NT route soon solely.
I seriously want the TIE Experimentals from XWA, as well as the Chir'daki and Gand starfighter.

Dude, It's an armoured, heavily armed dropship. What is not to like? It's not as if they didn't serve alongside Gunboats like, a lot.
Only joking. The Imperials could do with another Large base ship... but not before the Gunboat!

Oh I LOVE the assault transport, but it don't think it should be in X-wing.
It would instantly make every Decimator captain question their masculinity...
each ATR6 has more firepower than a gozanti, two decimators and a pair of TIE Bombers put together.

Just depends on the stats. I love playing them in convoi attack scenarios.

Still having issues with Steam's version of X-Wing Alliance. I've made it up to and completed the attack on Liberty by the TIE Experimentals, but dogfighting is proving very difficult. It's a combination of occasional frame rate drops, the highly obscured views from the XWAU cockpits and my joystick, I think - making it extremely tricky to track fast-moving targets (i.e. TIEs).
Reloading missions sometimes helps with the framerate problems, but it's disappointing.
Yeah, I went GOG...
Steam is the better choice for new games I find, but for the classics. Gog every time.
