when does a crit happen

By istoodonlego, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

Hi all. I just started playing armada and have a question about when a crit happens. Sorry if this has been covered but I could not see a topic about this card.

If I have a ship with the Overload Pulse upgrade and I roll the blue crit does that mean that at that point all the defenders defense tokens are exhausted and can only be discarded to be used? Or does the defender have a chance to use them and avoid the crit?

Similar question with Assault Concussion Missiles. Is the crit applied as soon as the dice are rolled or does the defender get a chance to use defense tokens?

Sorry if this has been covered before.

thanks

There is indeed a Set, Specific order of things...

Attacker Roll Dice

Attacker Modify Dice

+ (Including Spending Accuracy to negate Defense)

Defender Spend Defense

+ (Evade Resolves Immediately)

Attacker Chooses/Resolves Critical Effect

+ (Contain Resolves Here, if spent earlier)

Attacker Tallies Up Points of Damage

+ (Brace Resovles Here, if spent earlier)

Defender Takes Damage one Point at a Time

+ (Redirect Resolve here, if spent earlier)

What about an accuracy that is from the evade reroll? is it a lost roll or is it still usable by the attacker?

If an Evade is used to Reroll an attack die, and that die comes up an ACC - it is Wasted* as the time to spend ACC results has passed...

*However, it still counts as Damage as an Unspent ACC result if you have SW7 Ion Cannons and the die in question is Blue.

If its Red, its still wasted.
