WEG Stalk-Eyed Species

By BalazarLightson, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Has anyone stated up the Stalk-Eyed Species that featured in some of the old WEG D6 SW RPG Art at all?

So far I've ran or played in two campaigns that featured them in two other rules sets. Wondering if folk had stated them up for EoE yet?

I've done a build basing them around the Xexto.

Stat block
BRA 1 (They are tiny)
AGI 2
INT 2
CUN 3 (You don't survive in the galaxy when your this small without reasonable native cunning)
WIL 2
PRE 1 (they are a race no-one really notices nor remembers most members of this rather subservient race)

WT 8+BRA

ST 10+WIL

XP 85
Special Abilities
- One Free rank of the Stalker Talent (Naturally Sneaky because of their tiny size)

- Additional Limbs (As per Xexto Entry)

Werbols!!!!

I love those guys! It's funny, they have been around since about 1990, and I have never seen "official" stats for them anywhere! Which, I kind of like. I am not one to have stats on everything in the SW universe.

I used a Werbol as a major NPC in one of my last games, but I just kind of made him up on the fly, and he was a Hero level PC type of NPC anyway, so it did't really bug me to come up with a racial profile for him. I think I started off with 1's all the way around, then went from there. He ended up being the Group's doctor, so he became a pretty big deal for awhile.

I do remember seeing a thing once, where it mentioned they acted well in pairs, or groups, and they got a bonus for this. I think it might have been from the Rancor Pit D6 website, so it was definitely fan made stuff, but still good.

I think your homebrew stats look pretty good though!! Good job!

Give them the halfing bonus for equipment/armour as well out of D&D 3.5 - half cost due to size ;)

Never heard them called Werbols before. That's new to me.

D6 Stat block here with that name.

I better go back through the Elrood stuff and see if there is data there on them.

Oh boy...they are so cute :D . Thx for reminding me about them, will use them in the next games as the Jawas of Nar Shaddaa.

Remember Woetar from WEG, a member of a Zarian species?

Maybe they should get a bonus when aiding another, like the Togruta

Man, I forgot how much the Xexto pay for not taking strain when performing a second maneuver.

Yeah, but it does make them superlative pilots.

I actually feel uncomfortable with the double maneuver trait that Xexto get so thought I'd have another jab at it to make them a little more interesting and unique. I also like the social aspect of the Werbol entry, so wanna steal that idea to follow.

BRA 1 (They are the size of a toddler)
AGI 2 (multi-limbed, but not dexterous)
INT 2
CUN 3 (You don't survive in the galaxy when your this small without reasonable native cunning)
WIL 2
PRE 1 (they are a race no-one really notices, nor remembers, most members of this rather race are rather subservient)

WT 8+BRA (one good shot will kill one)

ST 10+WIL

XP 100
Special Abilities
- Silhouette 0

- One Free rank of the Stalker Talent (Naturally Sneaky because of their tiny size)

- One free rank in Mechanics (?), used to shipboard life and constant repairs.

- Helping Hands - Rather social creatures, eager to please, they provide double the bonus with the Aid Another action.

Wasn't there a character like this in an episode of Clone Wars? He lead a 'strike team' of R2 & R4 droids on a covert mission riding inside the head of a modified R4...

He was a much smaller frog-like species, no more than nine to twelve inches tall. One of the droids had its head modified to be his mobile command center.

But I can’t remember the character’s name or his race.

Colonel Gascon. Species is Zilkin.

Dammit. I knew he was a Colonel, and I knew it was in TCW, but for the life of me I couldn’t find that entry on Wookieepedia.

Sigh….

That I do. When I ran that adventure I channeled by best Kermit the Frog voice. I loved running that adventure.
