Internet generation, as soon as a games unsupported for a couple of months its DEAD DEAD AAAHHHH!!!!!

Of course in WFRP's case this was absolutely correct.

And y'know, Rogue Trader... apparently its unheard of for 2 games to be supported at the same time by the same company. Much like Highlander there can be only one 40krpg

Of of course no other web site will carry this news lest GW sue them like Dark Reign.

Dark Reign got sued? What the hell for?

We weren't sued, we were issued a Cease and Dissist notice by GW. Apparently they've never heard of "fair use", and seem to be acting on behalf of FFG also (though whether FFG knows this, I don't know). Best not continue the discussion here though, you can comment on Dark Reign about it all if you want.

About time, ive been waiting for ages. FFG needs to really step up thier releases, the gap between books seems to be getting longer and longer. There is no sign of Ascension on the horizon or the next Haarlock legacy scenario and even when the do appear in the Upcoming section it still puts it at several months away. IMO they either need to admit that Rogue Trader will impact the Dark Heresy releases or start putting books out faster (im not saying neglected in favor of becuase the Rogue Trader releases look like they are going to be just as slow).

I probably wouldn't complain under normal circumstances but it has been 6 months since the last DH book and we were told that Damned Cities (next Haarlock book) would be "hot on [Radicals'] heels" and we are now looking at more than 3 months before we can have a hope of seeing it and likely 6 months before Ascension.

Excellent. Then all is going according to plan...

Um, yeah. More DH and RT is good. At this point you basically have a direct line to my wallet as long as you keep quality up, so write write write please.

Or it could simply be a matter of the rotten economy going on in the world right now. If you check the credits section of the Rogue Trader rulebook and the Dark Heresy sourcebooks you'll see that it's pretty much the same people juggling both. And considering that the RPG making industry isn't the most profitable one in the world, and the fact that the rotten economic situation do discourage companies for hiring more people at the moment, it's easy to see why it takes time.

Another reason why im inclined to be sympathetic is because im suffering from some serious writers cramp right now, and I can genuinely see the difficulties in just plucking cool and interesting new stuff right out of the ass and put it down on paper.

Sometimes you need to take a few weeks or months just to think...

Another way the economy can hurt releases is the impact on orders. A distributor won't order as many copies of, say, Ascenscion if he's just ordered 10,000 copies of the Radical's Handbook. He'll wait until those have cleared their shelves before ordering more product from the same game line. If DH customers have just bought a supplement, they may wait a while before buying the next. The distributors and retailers prefer to wait until the fans are nuts with frustration so they'll buy them as soon as they come out.

This is indeed great news. This book is being released at exactly the right time.

Interestingly enough, the not-quite-Puritan inquisitor my Acolytes served until recently had a Radical master himself. He told a story about how he had to kill his master, kicking him off of a mile-high landing pad in the rain. "Speaking his heresies all the way down..."

Now, our new game takes place 40 years in the past. The player's master will be Hieronymous Rosenberg, the Radical... they will be there when the story takes place. The Inquistor of our last campaign will be an acolyte himself, and the whole story will be retold from a new perspective... it's a prequel! I'm thinking that Lady Rathbone will be in there as well... not sure.

Not that I'm telling them up front.. I do not want to spoil the surprise!

Excellent I am looking forward to this book to help me creep out my players and watch there slow slid into heresy and flamer firegran_risa.gif

"Ausgezeichnet!" *tipping fingerips against each other*

You could take that tact. Or you could think that GW deserves all the bad press they get. Sane companies know that threating your fans with a law suit is generally against your best interests. Sane companies start with a friendly email, start a dialog, and only move to lawyers when that fails. Sane companies thing it's a great idea when people post news of new releases, and links to where you can buy their stuff. Not mention their notice tramples all over any thought of fair use. That said I'm not saying that GW didn't have a point. The whole sale copying of images from various sources that occurred in some fan created stuff hosted on the site was obvious a violation of copyright. Also the site could have done better with posting GW trademark notices on the site. (If GW fails to defend their trademark they will loose them.)

Definitely looking forward this:) Are there any sneak peaks/reviews from happy and lucky buyers yet?

The Radical's Handbook has arrived at FFG. Unless something's changed since yesterday it is not yet available for sale. No idea when it will hit stores. Hopefully soon.

Good news my local game store got my pre-order in. Judging by how things went with RT the rest of you will start seeing it in your LGS in a few days.

Now up for sale in online store. May already be availible at some retailers, or may have to wait until next delivery day at a given retailer rolls around.
