Constant Advantage End of Mission

By Goreshde, in Imperial Assault Rules Questions

If a Rebel players wins the Survival of the fittest mission to end the Constant Advantage Bane, how much influence does the Imperial player receive?

It's ... listed in the rewards section of the mission. Should be 1 Influence and 1 XP for the imperial player, but can't read my Hoth campaign guide right now.

Scouring of the Homestead is the mission for "Constant Advantage"

Survival of the Fittest is the mission for "Weary from Toil"

Either way, you don't need to win the missions to get rid of the Bane, you only need to do them. Rebels winning get a boon, losing don't get a boon, but win or lose, the bane is gone.

In both cases, All players get 1xp, the rebels get 100 credits per hero, and the Imperial Player gets 1 influence. If the imperial player wins, he/she gets 2 additional influence.

The question is about the timing. Constant Advantage gives +1 influence if the Imperial earned less than 3, but this happens at the "end of the mission". After Scouring of the Homestead, it says to discard Constant Advantage, but this also happens in the "end of mission" section. So the question is, since the card takes effect during the same timing instance as the card is discarded, can the Imperial choose to trigger the card one last time for +1 influence before it goes away?

Actually thats a good question and should probably be officially queried?

Has there been any official word on this? We just ran across this mission, and it seemed obvious that the bane was gone before it would have triggered. However, the app I use to track our campaign granted me the extra influence. We agreed that it was wrong, but I'd still like an official ruling. In general, it feels a little weird for the banes to affect the mission that removes them.

Considering that most bands give their reward at the beginning of the mission, and so would still do so on the mission to remove them, I would totally rule that this one gives the influence just before it is removed. Would both effects be in the end of mission phase? Remove the bane and get the influence? Wouldn't that then be up to the imperial player to decide in which order he uses them? Or does the bane only provide the influence after the end of the mission?

The mission card is not returned to the box until the Post-Mission Cleanup, after the mission is fully resolved (page 19 of the RRG under Mission Stage).

As long as the mission card is in play, the bane is also in play, meaning that the Imperial player will get +1 influence at the end of Scouring the Homestead, to a maximum of 3. Then the mission card and the bane are returned to the box.
