Mirkwood superrunner

By noctum_carpe, in Strategy and deck-building

Anyone ever made this combo work?

Mirkwood Runner
With
Bow of the Galadhrim
Rivendell Blade
Rivendell Bow

I think i will try it with two decks complemeting each other.

Edit removed rivendell blade since i wrongfully thout it reduces enermies defense by -2, all the better less parts to the combo i can have 2 Bow of the Galadhrim , attacking for 6 with range.

Edited by noctum

It does work really well, the only downside is they have to attack alone, so you don't get to trigger other effects like Legolas or even use Foe Hammer. but it is otherwise very strong!

My idea for a deck using this and other combos.

But im at 66 cards it needs to be trimmed.

This deck is a support deck that works with initial secrecy it would work best in a 3 or 4 player game with enought enermies, it cannot quest!

tactics

Mirkwood runner with bow of the galadriel and rivendell bow, along with legolas and haldir with weapons and foe hammer kills and draws cards.

Rumil is a bomb if you can pay for him in this deck.

Trollshaw scout exaust for rain of arrows and then you use pursue the nermies on a cheap silvan.

master of the forge fishes out weapons

You could run it along with a galadriel deck or similar strategy to let this deck stay in secrecy and avoid engagemants

The link is actually copy-paste correct -- it's just that for some reason one of the #'s gets incorrectly URL-encoded when turned into a link here. This alternate link should work fine: http://goo.gl/nKB7zz

What about Narya? It would allow them to attack multiple times at +1 attack.

I could really use som help trimming it down. I suck at that

Best regards Noctum

What about Narya? It would allow them to attack multiple times at +1 attack.

Why not in a secondary deck? But there has to be a lot of enermies then. I find that legolas, haldir and mirkwood runner can make short work of a lot of foes

I'd drop Arod and Wingfoot. Yes both are good but you have to start cutting somewhere. Wingfoot allows you to add 2 willpower to the quest. Not really worth the slots it is taking up in this deck.

Rain of Arrows didn't even make this cut, so I'd drop the Trollshaw scout 2x in favor of 2x Henamarth Riversong. This guy is the best silvan to power either Tree People or Pursuing.

I'd also choose between Goblin-Cleaver and Straight Shot - depending on the enemies in the quest - but I wouldn't run both.

I'd side-board the Black Arrow, also dependent upon what types of enemies you'll be facing.

How much use do you get out of the Ithilien archer?

Edited by Slothgodfather

I don't really see why this has to be a 2 hero deck. Adding Beregond would make it much better, and you probably still won't have to engage (m)any enemies.

But assuming you stick with 2 heroes, the cost curve needs to change dramatically. You're likely never going to be able to play Rumil from your hand. Likewise for Ithilien Archers because I'm assuming you would prioritize Mirkwood Runner or Silvan Tracker.

The whole Silvan engine seems too costly for this deck, especially if you aren't running Henamarth. 2 resources to play a Silvan means you probably can't play anything else that turn. So I would cut the Minstrels, Tree People, Pursuing the Enemy, and Defenders of the Naith.
