Talent/Force Power Shorthand?

By Woobyluv, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

Has anyone come up with a reliable way to write down the path a player takes for his talents or force powers without the excess pages for the record sheet?

I like streamlined characters that I can look on a single page and know everything I need to know about his abilities then have the second page be equipment and other less used details.

For example, I'm creating a Shadow and his chosen talents thus far are:

Sleight of Mind (5xp), Street Smarts (5xp), Codebreaker (5xp), Indistinguishable (5xp), Mental Fortress (10xp)

I can look at the specialization page and know the direction the character is going, but how am I to record the path for others, who may not see the path, in order to verify my character is legit?

I used to write [specialisation:#,#] in brackets at the end of the Talent's description, with the first number denoting the row, and the second denoting the column. I'd obviously replace "specialisation" with the name of the talent tree that the Talent was purchased from.

For example, Riley's two Talents would be listed as follows:

Skilled Jockey 1: Riley removes 1 Setback die per rank of Skilled Jockey from her Piloting (Planetary) and Piloting (Space) checks. [Pilot:1,2]

Uncanny Senses 1: Riley adds 1 Boost die per rank of Uncanny Senses to her Perception checks. [FSEm:1,2]

If she then gained Toughened 1 and Grit 1 from the Force-Sensitive Emergent tree, I'd do the same as above, but end them with [FSEm:2,2] and [FSEm:1,4] respectively.

The above serves to show you the exact Talents you've chosen on your tree, but not necessarily the path. If that's important to you, then maybe list them in path order?

Yeah, the grid coordinates is how I'd do it. But I'm not sure how I'd go about denoting connections. Would be easiest just to refer to the actual graphical talent tree when spending XP; you don't need to know the connecting talent paths until you're spending XP, and then you need to know what is available to purchase anyway.

Just use Ogg's Character Creator thats in the EOTE forum.

Before I discovered Doc, The Weasel's sheets or OggDude's generator, I wrote down the talents and descriptions as usual on the first page, and on the back, I would create a matrix of dots (5 row 4 columns), connect the dots as it is in the talent tree, then circle the ones I purchased.

I knew there was a good use for the "notes" section on the character sheet...!
