Hello all!

If you're looking to join a game, or are hunting for somewhere to start up your own campaign, I highly recommend that you come to roleplayinggames.net. It's a long-running site dedicated to hosting DnD, Star Wars, or Misc games; but unfortunately, the Star Wars area has less life in it than it used to - which is unacceptable, given the arrival of FFG's system!

I heartily recommend that GMs and players come on over to help revitalise the Star Wars area with fresh, new faces and Edge of the Empire/Age of Rebellion/Force and Destiny campaigns. The site has it's own FFG dice roller, so there's no need to find your own elsewhere (and as all dice rolls are sent to the GM, or to whoever the player wishes, directly, all rolls are authentic and honest). My own game, Tempest Feud, is running there, and I can't recommend the site enough.

Help bring life to a great site, and bring in a new era of Star Wars games. :-)

As someone playing in two games on roleplayinggames.net, I have to say that the separate page for character details and sheet links, as well as the page for keeping track of house rules, are both very useful for keeping who's playing what straight in my head.

A GM also has his own page for campaign details/information, game notes (house rules, ship stats, etc), and an area for character detail pages for NPCs and PCs (as Kaigen mentioned above). The GM gives board permissions to the players he wants, meaning that non-players or those without permission cannot post unwanted messages on his board.

Thanks will have to look into it. I have 2 players that play tabletop but we could play tabletop and use the website for players who can't physically make it. I want 2 more players. Also run Dark Ages old world of darkness

The site can accommodate Dark Ages too (there is already a game being run on there using the anniversary rules), but hopefully we'll gain more Star Wars games than anything else! (I am biased.)

There is a Recruitment Board there where you can advertise your campaign to site users, and a Recruit Players function that, once used, adds your campaign to a list of games that are currently open for new players. This makes it easy for site members to find open campaigns, read its campaign details, and then contact the GM directly through email.

Is there any way to go to the first unread post on there? I already have a profile, but can't find it.

I have to say, I thought I was more in an in-person or Roll20 kind of guy, but I joined a game that ended up taking place on the site we're talking about (because it was easier than committing to meeting for a few hours every week) and I'm in love with it! It's surprisingly convenient, and I like that it encourages creative writing and good in character role-playing. I almost wish I were GMing my game through there now, honestly. Plus, I think it's a lot easier to find play-by-post games when the recruitment threads are constantly being buried by (equally awesome, mind you) theorycrafting, speculation, and rules questions.

From the main page, go on the "Join!" drop-down menu and select "Become a GM"; scroll to the bottom of the next page, click on "Next >>", and then fill in your game description (which becomes your campaign details page - you can edit this further later!). This is all sent off to the PTB, who should get you a board set up within 24-48 hours.

You'll be given a few additional buttons on your profile, which allow you access to your board's Utilities page. From there you can give players board permissions (allow the to post/make characters/use the dice roller/etc), change the colours/layout of your board, edit your game notes and campaign details pages, and more.

Always worth signing up there and voicing your interest in the Recruitment Board. Sometimes GMs get inspired by player interest, and sometimes a space opens up and they approach people there.

On your game Utilities page there should be a link titled something like "Player Permissions"; click on this and input the username of the person you want to add. You then choose what permissions you want to give them: access to the dice roller, the ability to write posts, the right to make a character page, etc.

Did you find the board permissions for players like I mentioned above? How goes the recruitment for your game? :-D If things seem slow, I highly recommend recruiting through these FFG boards too - I did it for Tempest Feud, and received LOTS of interest.
