Twins vs. Echos

By RoflRoy, in Imperial Assault Skirmish

There are lots of Rebel players using the Twins list:

Luke

Leia

C-3PO

R2-D2 or RHC+DM

Gideon

eSabo

eSabo

What I kinda enjoy playing these days is:

eEcho

eEcho

eSabo + TC

eSabo + TC

Gideon

C-3PO

R2-D2 or RHC+DM (or RHC instead of the TC on the Sabos)

I kinda think that the list is quite strong... those four Echos are really hard to kill

and they can make quite some damage with focus and red die (I am using the

red die surprisingly often) the only problem is, that combat suite is often times

kinda useless (against eStormtroopers for instance).

Sabos can do the rest (running around, stun, etc.)

And the droids end up to be very annoying (see R2 thread)

I am thinking of adding a Luke for eSabo + xxx

What do you think about the list? Can it compete with the twins?

RHC instead of the TC on the Sabs doesn't seem to be a good trade. In that list, the computers rock.

You have more health than the twins and more attacks. You trade that for all those little tricks the twins can do. Both lists are good.

I wouldn't recommend Luke without Leia or vice versa.

I recently ran:

Luke

Elite Sabs + TC

Elite Sabs + TC

Sabs

R2-D2

C-3PO

Gideon + On a Mission

Inspiring + TC meant all my sabs had ridiculously good rolls!

DerBaer - do Luke and Leia really 'deterministically' come as a package now?

Recently, I've devolved from the below list (which I won a 12 man tourney with):

2x Elite Echo

2x Elite Sabs (TC on 1 of them)

1x Regular Sabs

Gideon + On a Mission.

To:

2x Elite Echo

2x Elite Sabs

2x Regular Sabs

It's a simple list to play very well and is very forgiving of mistakes. After 6 or 7 rounds having something easy to pilot helps me.

I prefer these Elite Echo types of builds to Twins builds.

DerBaer - do Luke and Leia really 'deterministically' come as a package now?

'deterministically' ? ... for sure not.

I never liked Luke before Leia came. He just dies too fast and has only one attack for his 10 Points. Tested him a lot, never took him to a tournament.

Together with Leia and all the extra attacks, he has a good chance to roll Recover quite often and do some extra damage. That made him good in my book.

The good thing is: Since the last FAQ, there are MANY good lists, and many good variants thereof. There no longer is THE best list. Let's all be thankful for this.

How would a command deck look like to a Twin Sab build?

Here is the command deck I used to win a store championship with:

Son of Skywalker

Maximum Firepower

Squad Swarm

Lock On

Inspiring Speech

Slippery Target x2

Explosive Weaponry

Negation

I Can Feel It

Dead-eye

Take Imitative

Urgency

Hard to Hit

Element of Surprise

This past weekend I made the finals at a Regional and conceded because I am 95% sure I will not be going to Nationals or Worlds and the guy I was facing definitely is going. There were a couple of changes to the command deck (added heart of freedom- took out I Can Feel It--- not sure of the other changes off the top of my head)

The deployment list is:

Luke

Leia

eSaboteur

eSaboteur

Gideon

C3P0

Targeting Computer

Balance of the Force

On a Diplomatic Mission
