I normally fly imperials, but I've become fond of the k wing. I was wondering if Miranda and ess are as good together as I think they are.

I´m experimenting with Miranda/TLT/C3PO/Seismic/Seismic plus 2x Gold/TLT/ExtraMun/Proximity.

A little less bomb power than with two fully loaded Ks, but 3 TLTs instead of 2 and more hitpoints to chew through. The seismics work best on high-PS ships and proximites work best with low-PS ships so I think there is some merit to this setup. 6 bombs/mines and 3 TLTs with 25 hitpoints plus possible regeneration with Miranda.

I would be somewhat uncomfortable fielding only two 9 HP ships, even though they can slam to avoid getting burned too heavily at a time.

I'm currently running this and have found that people don't know what to focus on first. Poe or theWardens. I love K-Wings and woes planning on running 3 but my local rang out of stock and thought it might be good to have a third ship that can be the knife behind the backs of my opponents ships.

I've mainly tested against a Deci and Soontir list and have won 75% of the time. Admittedly my opponent gets better and better with his list each time as do I my losses with these 3 badasses where when I first started flying it but now I know how to fly them and make the most use of them. but..... I GODDAMN LOVE THEM K-WINGS! SO BADASS IN EVERYWAY!

Yeah i can see the 9hp quick death. But idk, i guess im used to quick death ships with the squints i run. But thank you for the idea, ill look at it for sure

Geez this seems good. I like using the elite pilots, but i never thought about having the two basic with poe. Ill try this sometime too haha

I've been running this exact list at Store Champs this month. Finished in top 8 at last event with it. It is very good. I would say that the main point when flying it is to be liberal with the use of SLAM. A lot of the time you will want to shoot but this isn't always the best option. I SLAM a lot with the list, especially at the start of the game (turns 1-4 even) and then once you are in a decent position start shooting. Also I would not necessarily try to get tactician to proc all the time. Treat it as a nice bonus as trying to get into R2 for it to work is counter-productive most of the time. TLDR: don't be afraid to SLAM a lot.

As for the 2 K-wing list I think the SLAM advice is even more important. You need to SLAM a lot. Kill something so you are up on points then cut and run so you don't get killed. I can't see that list being a 100-0 type of list but if you can get a few points and run you should do pretty well.

Yeah I agree with John, you absolutely do not have to shoot every turn to win. If you can think 2 or 3 turns ahead then SLAM yourself into the best positions for future turns don't always try HARD 2's trying to get tactician. I try to use it for the opening volley and then I won't get it usually for the following 2-3 turns depending on the way things play out. If they chase Poe then I can usually get the K-Wings on their tails for more tactician shots. If the take the K-Wings head on then Poe can blindside them!

I like this, but putting your list in squad builders makes it 104 points. What are you shaving off to make it work?

I never see R2D2 crew on a Kwing, is it not enough damage mitigation?

If I don't have 3PO what's a good replacement crew for him? I really like this list and I'm going to try it this week just lacking that card.

A lot of people like tactition, so maybe that. i don't really know what else would be good. I got lucky with my 3PO by earning it at a store championship

For the 2 K-Wing list, C-3P0 is almost a necessity on Miranda. You can't afford to lose her, because she is the key for the endgame with 2 damage mitigation per round (Miranda regen + C-3P0). Even against TLTs, C-3P0 comes in handy since at least one incoming shot will likely be unmodified.

Yeah, 3po works wonders with any 1 evade ship. So throwing 3po on miranda will increase her life span so much

So, update for me, I ran the linked list but with Intel Agent over Tactian and went 2-0 tonight.

First game was against VI Wes, Regen Poe and a Stresshog where Intel Agent and Proton Bombs were gold, killing Poe without much shooting though I blocked him very well because he only got to Focus once the entire game, with Conner Nets being excellent movement deterrents.

Second game was against Palpmobile escorted by 35 Fel and VI Vader. Much closer game but this time the Conner Nets were gold, they delt the last two damage needed on Vader (dropped one on him then he k turned so his ion movement would move him into the second one). Miranda never got hit in the hull in both games and Esege only died against a Vader Fel team up.

All in all I really enjoyed this list and did all of this as my first night ever flying K Wings or using bombs/mines, definietely high in the list of SC list to bring on Saturday, glad I found this topic!

Congrats on the wins!

While I can certainly see the usefulness of Intelligence Agent on Esege (and C-3P0 on Miranda), something you'll want to keep in mind is that Wave 8 brings THE ultimate crew for this list: Sabine Wren. I'd highly recommend holding onto Intel Agent until you get accustomed to how each enemy ship can move, then drop it for Sabine Wren (unfortunately, C-3P0 is way too good to give up on Miranda).
