BBE

By EeiddKlabe, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Has anyone run BBE? Two B wings with accuracy corrector and a standard Corran Horn.

I feel like that would be an effective list. The B's have reliable damage, barrel rolls, and are resilient. Not super maneuverable, but they are good to start an engagement, have Corran do his double tap, and the B's don't seem like something it's safe to just turn your back to.

I saw similar lists. I think B with FCS is better. AC sounds nice, but thats just 2 dice, soontir, vader and such can just eady avoid it. Big ships have it harder, but then u can use Y with TLT and get same result :)

I think is better use Etahn, so your B's can made some crits.

My first "real" X-wing game was played tonight and I ran this BBE list. I lost... But I'm new so, I can't blame it on Anything but inexperience.

I fly BBE against my friends often and it has about a 60/40 success rate but my BBE is this:

Etahn has the Blues (99)

Blue Squadron Pilot (28) - B-Wing

Advanced Sensors (3), Plasma Torpedoes (3)

Blue Squadron Pilot (28) - B-Wing

Advanced Sensors (3), Plasma Torpedoes (3)

Etahn A'baht (43) - E-Wing

Predator (3), R2-D2 (4), Shield Upgrade (4)

Adv. Sensor Bs can action before red manuevers to improve their options and use plasma torps to reduce shields. Once shields are down Etahn makes it a crit-party whilst R2D2 and an extra shield make him a tough tank to kill. Often my opponents target Etahn as the support ship but it is actually the Bs that hit the hardest. Works great on big ships ( have given the Decimator 6 crits in one combat phase), harder against swarms. Can deal with turrets and aces with clever flying.

Personally i'd rather run Corran with PTL, FCS, R2-D2 and EU and drop the torpedoes on the B's. But to be honest that is largely due to my lack of faith in munitions

Guidance chips will be making an appearance as soon as they ship :-)

That would work

Guidance chips will change up a lot of lists. I'm looking forward to it. I was running the standard Corran and I feel he's reliable... Always the last ship on my side, and stubborn as hell. He just doesn't get enough done to save himself. And I'm Sure that's my fault because Corran is world championships material. I'm not. I think my planning and priorities are off. Ran it against a big toe swarm played by newbies I was teaching the game to... And I lost.
