The Meta - Collection of lists/archetypes

By jonboyjon1990, in Imperial Assault Skirmish

Check DerVollie's link on the previous page. All Wave 1 squads

Any suggestion for a wave 1 restricted tournament? Prefer to play empire, i have 1x of every expansion and possibilities to ask a friend for some miniature of the core

Imperial Search Block from the previous page is all Wave 1, silly good and not overly dependent on Command Cards. Seems like it fits the bill.

Wave 1 Rebels are weird now with the Sabs nerf and Scum are basically Trando Spam and that's it.

Haven't seen you on in forever! You guys going to get IAcommand going again? Or maybe some blog entries from time to time? There's a lot of stuff I'd be interested in you guys going over.

I've always been lurking =). I don't play as much any more, but try to keep up with the game. I can't speak for IACommand status, but I can say that if I blog about IA it will be few and far between for now. I have just been focusing more on X-Wing and LCGs these days.

As I had warned, my meta basically vanished about a month or two before they "fixed" RGs and Sabs. There has been a small subset of people getting back into IA around here lately but it is spread out heavily by the metroplex and desire is pretty low outside of a couple dedicated people. IA still sells well because of the Campaign, but Skirmish is now more of a distraction than something people play on the regular, which isn't overly surprising to me.

In any case, thanks for being excited to see me =).

What is a good rebel counter to Swarm troopers? I would guess maybe just blast from Sabs?

What is a good rebel counter to Swarm troopers? I would guess maybe just blast from Sabs?

My girlfriend adopted my modified trooper list. It's pretty similar to Swarm Troopers with:

  • 2 x eStormtrooper
  • 1 x rRoyal Gaurd
  • 1 x eE-Web
  • 3 x rImperial Officer

So after 4 matches I've been unable to beat it with any Rebel list. Closest I came was a bunch of lucky blasts from eSabs but Reinforcements mitigated much of the damage. Lost to another swarm list with the same eSab list at a Store Championship. It was also running Snowtroopers to heal away the the Sab blast.

The lack of Blast 2 (removed by the errata) really hurts here, it makes a huge difference when you're trying to beat swarms. You have to land 3 blasts instead of 2 for Officers and Regular troopers, which is tough but reasonable, but you have to land 5 blasts instead of 3 (or 2 x Blast 2 + 1 x Blast 1) to kill an Elite Stormtrooper and that's basically not going to happen within the scope of a skirmish. It's almost like it should be Blast 1.5 or something.

So right now I think 2 x eStormtrooper (plus anything else good) lists are the best in the game and I don't think there's a good counter.

Maybe you could get lucky and Trample them with a Bantha? Haven't tried that yet, but they could take it down pretty quickly since eStormtroopers average 4+ damage per figure = 12 damage per activation. Against a Bantha thats half its life, meaning it's dead after the second eStormtrooper group shoots it.

Hi guys, can someone clarify a few things for me? In the core rule book for skirmish, it clearly states that we can field only 2 elite deployment cards and 4 regular deployment cards. But in this thread is see way more elite cards than allowed and it all seems above board.

How can this be?

I don't know if I understood your doubt. But you can only have 2 elite and 4 regular of THE SAME GROUP. So you can't put 3 eStormies, but you can put 2eStormies and 2 eJets and even more elite if you can afford in the 40 points limit. Same with regulars, you can't put 5 Stormies, but can 4 of Stormies and 4 officers and so on....

Hi,

What do you think about this build, I played it several times and works:

Han solo

Leia

Lando

Hera Syndulla

C3PO

Jyn Odan

c1-10p/Gydeon

Heroic effort
