Boat down!

By Warpman, in X-Wing

It seems the boat went down, because the site now states "not yet released"

So now FFG is afraid to release it too early to avoid a crash!

This puzzled me because it doesn't show that in the upcoming page. I tried reloading without cache, still shows on the boat. I then wiped my browser history (sometimes it's performs what the reload without cache can't do) and reopened chrome, still 'on the boat'. Then, I realized you were looking at the direct individual product pages, such as this:

https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/products/x-wing/products/inquisitors-tie-expansion-pack/

I've never looked there for status, what did it say before on those pages? It sounds like there may have been no update at all, which seems right considering the estimated release date is still 2-3 weeks away...

The real boat is already back to homeport. But FFG storage lockers have nautical names like the "SS Dusty" and the Cardboard Cruiser.

Actually, this might not be that far off. Wave 8 is no longer "on the boat" because it has arrived and is being prepped for distribution, hence "not yet released".

Perhaps that is why we got the date bump the other day - there was not enough time to get everything in order and distributed by the initially stated release date.

It previously said "on the boat" in place of "not yet released".

I guess I assumed everyone knew this, but the west coast ports have been involved in another slow-burning labor dispute for several weeks. And since "on the boat" is FFG's only external symbol for everything that happens between loading the ship in China and the arrival of product at distribution hubs...

Can we all (it involves a plane trip for me) go to the dock and just volunteer to unload the x wing ourselves? One of us has to have a crane lisence and someone on here has to have a forklift lisence?

I have a pickup. I *promise* none will go missing.

This just means my wallet is ready.

Hear that FFG? My wallet. Is ready.

Any links to discussion about what's going on? Everything I could find when I looked just now was talking about last year's "troubles."

Mea culpa.

Last week, a Facebook friend passed on a bunch of links combining last year's news of the actual slowdown with a more recent article on the cost of (last year's) strike. I assumed all the links were current news, and didn't check the dates until just now. :(

For me this, withdrawal doesn't fully end until Imperial Veterans arrive.

By then another wave will be teased...

I thought the boat was sent back to 1945 to fight the Japanese?

I hope it made it back, getting kind of worried it was sunk.

it's there in the "expansions"

Probably got tired of people complaining about the boat so instead of giving us detailed information on the status of the product they set it back to a simple In Stock, Out of Stock, Not Yet Released. Easier for them to update and no one can complain about the boat anymore.

I'd hate to say this but when dealing with impatient masses less is often more.

Very true, Marinealver... and I can't imagine the chum that will be pouring into the forum-water in another week. The churn is already creating waves... and froth...

....no one can complain about the boat anymore.

Pipedream. Never gonna happen, unfortunately.

Why yes, yes it has.

And last I've checked, the temporal rift allowing it to return to present time hasn't opened yet. But if you search hard enough, you can now find pictures of Winston Churchill with a model of the Ghost.

This just gives me reason to buy the rest of my rebel stuff and start buying my scum stuff....if I don't buy something Xwing related at least every other week, I twitch and go into convusions.

I have a forklift and yard truck licence. And I DID contact them last year during the strike. I was ignored ;(

That was a lockout, not a strike... (i.e. the shippers weren't allowing the longshoreman to work, a reverse strike if you will)

Boat got taken by Pirates. Could be some time before the hostage ships are released.
