4YZ could be a new good Rebel spam list

By Admiral Deathrain, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Dorsal Turret is coming and with it Rebels gain yet another 22 point option - a Gold Squadron Pilot with R2 and Dorsal Turret. That means that the roster of the trusty B-Wing of 4BZ fame, IA Rookie Pilot, and PTL + Juke Green Squadron Pilot gains a new member to mix and match or, of course, just run pure!

What do you think, does this look like your cup of tea?

If you wanted to run 4 Rebel Y-Wings go two TLT and two Dorsal in mixed pairs and throw bomb load out and proximity mines or some such on the dorsal Y's yo keep your 6 clear. Not sure this would have enough sustained firepower to win you a game, but running YYYYZ seems like a terrible idea.

It has the same amount of health as BBBBZ and is can fire more consistently. I'd say it can beat quad TLT. It doesn't look exactly top meta, but terrible is an assesment that is plain wrong. Especially when you keep in mind that there always is room for the BTL-A4 title...

The Dorsal Turret is such a significant downgrade from the TLT that I'm not sure the extra Z-95 makes up for it. Just my two cents.

While it *might* be able to shoot more often, my guess is that it wouldn't be quite as good as the 4BZ list (that's maneuvered well), or even the Y2B2Z list I've been running.

The dorsal only has two attack dice (unless you're at range one), so I believe it's going to have a hard time actually hitting targets outside of range one.

I just don't think it has quite enough punch.

What I might look at is including one or two of them, supported by other ships.

If you want to add more attack more, add more attack power. Don't reduce the attack capability of 4 ships to add a 5th, imo.

What about Hwk TLTx4 +1Z? The HWKs have worse dials and are a bit squishier than the Ys, but they're not missing any firepower now (er, except with R1 primary attacks), and you get the extra Z to help block (keep enemies out of R1 primary!) and shoot. The added body and firepower might make up for the downgrade from Ys to HWKs.

You want 4 Y's, 4 Flechette Torps, 4 Extra Munitions/Flechette Torps and a Z. Also Chips of course.

Also Chips of course.

BBQ or Sour Cream and Onion?

i like to mind game my opponent and tilt them with chip choice per round. i ask them their favorite and eat that bag slowly throughout the game.

Dual Chip meta.

You guys are right, as turret there probably isn't much merit to it. The title on the other hand should be rather interesting to try out.
