Compare and Contrast - Newbie braves a Store Tournament

I have two lists, 1 of each faction. I'd like to hear which YOU would take to a tournament, why, and how you would fly it. Also welcome tweaks you would make in terms of upgrades or squadrons...

(No, I don't have big $$$ to spend on Imp ships, I just have the 2 Victory's).

If I was you I would think about getting at least 3 ships in each list. I would cut your upgrades to the mc30 torpedoe as it's likely to die, tilte, OE and APT are fine. Nym is a lot of points for little return ( ability only works 1 in 4), so get two more y wings for his money, I would loose dash to help pay for that extra ship.

I would not suggest playing the imp list, double vic lists get eaten alive in wave 2 ( they weren't great in wave one)

Home one doesnt affect itself, so maybe trade that for independance so you can fling those bombers about? As jon says, may be worthwhile switching for some generic squadrons so you can bring more dice to bear. Rebel aces are useful when you lack squadron activations. In this case X's, B's and Y's will suffice alongside Jan.

Dash, Nym and the MC30's intell officer, ecm and x17's is about the same price as Neb Escort yavaris!

Two ship fleets are at a huge disadvantage in tournaments; your opponent can activate a couple of ships that are not near you or are not worth many points (like Raiders and Corvettes), while watching where you move and then pounce on your ships. You'll need at least three ships in a list, four is better but difficult to do.

Also, you have lots of fighters that need to be activated for maximum effect; Boosted Comms are great for this.
