Dumb question, does it work with his TRoll?
Ello Atsy and lightning reflexes
I think so, since the maneuver came from his dial, even though the color is being changed.
Yes. It states clearly that you receive stress after maneuver so why it should not? It it would stress you immediatly it would be another story...
Just wanted to make sure, buddy was saying that because his dial is a Red TR that it wouldn't work, because he doesn't have a white TR on his dial

Yes thats true. But Ello ability makes it white. It doesnt matter what color its on the dial. It matters what color it is when its resolved: same as with Adrenaline Rush, if it would not work that way revealing red would require to give your opponent a dial BEFORE AR would trigger.
A manoeuvre and a difficulty aren't the same thing, so it works. As long as a move is on your dial (and for whatever reason is green or white) you can use Lightning Reflexes with it.
Otherwise R2 astromechs, Unhinged Astros, Juno's ability to take the colour of the move with her, all would negate certain things as they wouldn't be 'on the dial' due to change of colour.

A "maneuver" in the game consists of 3 parts; difficulty, speed, and bearing. Those 3 things together define each maneuver. A green 1-straight is a different maneuver than a white 1-straight.
What's going on with Ello and similar abilities is that they are changing the color of the maneuver that is on the dial. If Ello's ability was worded "when you perform a tallon roll, you may perform a white tallon roll with the same speed and bearing instead" then lightning reflexes wouldn't work because you are being told to perform a different maneuver, but since it is telling you to alter the maneuver that is on your dial, the maneuver is still on your dial.
Edited by ForgottenloreBasically, if Ello isn't stressed, his T-Rolls are white, and that's all that's required for Lightning Reflexes to turn that T-Roll into a nifty side-slip.
Actually, I'm a little surprised FFG haven't used a reverse T-roll as a side-slip maneuver yet. Starting and finishing facing the same direction after using a turn template sounds like a good idea for a maneuver to me.

It's effectively the same as a 2-straight followed by a free action Barrel Roll, except in the case where the 2-straight would have been blocked.

The 2 straight followed by a barrel roll puts you in the same position as a barrel roll followed by a 2 straight. As the 2 straight is green on the T-70 dial we can therefore do a green "forward" facing talon roll by equipping BB-8 to the ship. Reveal green, BB-8 Barrel Roll, PTL for action, execute green 2 straight, clear stress, and perform an action.
Ello Asty says you may treat the maneuvers as white. You could also choose to treat them as red! (If you wanted a red maneuver for some reason, Targetting Astromech, perhaps)
Make sure you declare what you are doing if your opponent is not familiar with Ello Asty's ability.
When I play with new people I'll remind them if they forget to get benefits from their abilities and such.
