A situation came up in our last game we didn't really know the answer to. I played a Lore card together with Deja Vu, which let me take back the card I just played and discard Deja Vu instead. My friend played a Foil card, which caused me to discard my lore card instead of playing it. We were wondering how the interaction between Foil and Deja Vu works. Do I keep the original lore card or not ?
Rules question: Use of Deja Vu and Foil
I believe it would depend which Lore Card the opponent was targeting. If he was targeting the deja vu you would be able to play the original card for it's effect but not be able to keep it. If he was targeting the other Lore Card's effect you would have to pay for that lore card and be unable to use it, but would be able to retain it in your hand.
That seems to make sense. Cheers.
The Lore card your opponent played is Foiled and the Deja Vu card that was played that was played alongside of your Lore card, is returned to the players hand.
