That's one heck of an alpha strike. Enough to take down any one of the opponent's ships, I'd say

Yeah I am excited about playing the cloaking device on the scum HWK as normally he is priority target number one for your opponent so even if your cloaking device just lasts one turn it will have done the job of avoiding damage or making your opponent select other targets.

I am thinking, use Mux alongside multiple ships with Predator, it opens up their dials and actions nicely.

I built a list with that in mind and took it to a Store Champ. Did okay, kept forgetting Sensor Jammer on Guri (which you kind of need to avoid all those turrets) but the performance was more due to my flying than to inherent difficulties. List was:

Guri - 40

Virago - 1

Sensor Jammer - 4

Predator - 3

Autothruster - 2

Palob - 36

TLT - 6

Predator - 3

Engine - 4

Moldy Crow - 3

Torkil - 24

Ion Turret - 5

My biggest regret is not being able to fit TLT on torkil - that would have given him a better way to deal damage and amplify his affect (if you get within range 3 of this guy, he's going to do something that you don't want). Palob was terrifying and really helped hamper my opponents action economy, while Predator on Palob and Guri allowed for some very consistent rolls. Sensor-Jammer Guri is still one of the best TLT hunters in the game and the games I lost were the ones were Guri died early. The tough part is that the list requires you to do a ton of work off the start - if you can't get ahead on ship destruction, you'll find yourself losing the damage race since you have a very small amount of hull. One game ended with Palob and Miranda scooting around the board shooting at each other. That's a bad time because while I could consistently roll 2-3 hits, the most damage I could do per round was two, and only one of those stuck.

A few of our local guys have started running Torkil with TLT Y-wings as the damage dealer while Torkil covers range 1-2 with an ion turret. It definitely makes aces wary of closing the gap, but they HAVE to close it to avoid all those nasty shots. It's a nice little catch-22.

Honestly, I'm just excited to see HWKs showing up in a competitive sense and Torkil is a big part of that. Just wish there were easier ways to stack predator with him since the synergy is awesome.

My list had some slight different but glad to know that I'm not alone in running the three of them together! I also kept forgetting Sensor Jammer and it cost me in the long run.

Starhawks represent!

And that's kinda comforting to hear about the jammer. I play this game far too much to forget something like that but after so many rounds of a tournament it's just a lot to keep track of. I kept saying the order of activations out loud just to make sure my opponent could follow all of the triggers - "End of activation, Torkil knocks your ship to zero. Beginning of combat, Palob takes that ship's focus. Guri also gets her free focus. Now my ships attack because your ship is zero."

Still a super fun list :)

Torkil (Twin Laser Turret)

Palob (Opportunist, K4 Security Droid, Blaster Turret, Moldy Crow, Hull Upgrade)

Why not drop out the TLT on Palob for a Blaster since Crow title and ability should give him the focus he needs, plus frees up 1 pt for bid or something else if you want. I mean otherwise I think just dropping the Crow title and taking TLT is still a better option than ion in that squad.

NEVER rely on palob's ability for focus tokens. 95% of the time, opponent's just don't bother focusing or evading around palob. They'll TL or something if they can. And Palob's ability + moldy crow is not enough to power blaster turret. You run through focus tokens too fast from the stack, then either can't fire the turret or your stuck only doing focus actions so you can attack, which means you can't do anything else. You really need recon speciallist with engine if you want to run blaster turret so you can have a big stack and get them back faster if you run out.

Palob + MC title + Recon + Non-blaster Turret of your choice + Expert Handling is my play.

As enemy ships already don't focus or evade around him, you might as well negate their target locks as well... :)

I've been running Torkhil and Palob as a duo since they dropped in Wave 6. They're pretty nasty on their own, and even better together. I've recently been running the following list to some success; a 10th place finish out of roughly 36 players (might have been more, but for some reason the number 36 is stuck in my head). I previously had a Cartel Marauder in the list instead of the Syndicate Thug, but after flying against Omega Leader and other Aces, I decided to squeeze an Autoblaster turret in the list instead.

Palob Godalhi (29)
HWK-290 (20), Predator (3), Twin Laser Turret (6)

Torkhil Mux (25)
HWK-290 (19), Twin Laser Turret (6)

Black Sun Ace (26)
Kihraxz Fighter (23), Predator (3)

Syndicate Thug (20)
Y-Wing (18), Autoblaster Turret (2)

Predator + Mux's ability does a lot of work in this list, both against targets that Mux drops to 0, and with the relative frequency of generic pilots (at least in my area). I've got another version of this list waiting in the wings for Wave 8 to drop, but seeing as how there's an SC I'm hoping to take that to later this month. As far as getting the most of out Torkhil's ability, one list I've been considering post-Wave 8 is the following:

Black Sun Ace (26) x 2

Kihraxz Fighter (23), Predator (3)

Tansarii Point Veteran (23)
M3-A “Scyk” Interceptor (17), Predator (3), “Heavy Scyk” Interceptor (2), Tractor beam (1)

Torkhil Mux (25)
HWK-290 (19), Twin Laser Turret (6)

100 Points

You have Torkhil drop someone to 0, then the TPV fires and tries to drop their agility/move the target to R1 of either of the BSAs, and then they open up hopefully with a focus and Predator re-rolls. If the target is still up at that point, you've got Torkhil's TLT to smack them with. Could be nasty, though it does suffer from Torkhil being the lynchpin of the list and when he goes down, it'll lose some of its potency.
