Well, I went with the Tantive IV.
I figured that A: It would be the most iconic and recognizable ship for the kids (Gozanti a close second), B: It would be easy to build a scenario around and C: Most of the kids prefer playing Imps anyway, so since I'll be the one running the huge ship, rebel it is
Proxy the modification cards that come in the Gozanti, though. It will really make Epic better.
Don't let the enemy load up on too many things with high attack dice. It can be a quick game if the Rebels face nothing but Interceptors, Phantoms, and Tie Defenders.
My advice is to make a list for both sides on your own. That way you can build balanced lists for both sides. Epic doesn't have to be about one side finding the trick to kick in the other's face. It can be about a balanced game that is fun. Also, try to stick with as many generics as you can. Lots of special characters means lots of special rules. Also, don't max out on too many of the same ship type. Don't go with 12 Academy Pilots or everyone will sit around forever while one guy moves and/or shoots. Break it up by PS points and spread them out to multiple players on one side to make it easier, even if it isn't the most points efficient way. It will be time efficient.
The CR-90 will take a bit of time to fly well. It's not really one that flies at the enemy and blasts them. You really want to broadside the enemy ships. So, you need to fly at an angle to them. If you play games with it, make sure you play the same game a few different times to figure out how to fly it.
Have fun with it! Make sure to play some Star Wars music while playing. ![]()
