So I took a list that would be more fun than cutthroat competitive.
Rexler Brath + HLC + Predator + TIE Mk. II
Black Squadron TIE + Predator
Black Squadron TIE + Predator
Black Squadron TIE + Predator
It did really well against low agility ships. I went 2-2. I was really hoping to go against some of the archetypal lists out there like Corran/Dash and quad TLT Y-Wings, but I never got paired against them.
First match was a win, 166-66. He had Boba and Patrol Leader. Lots of stress mechanics. Predator more than pulled its weight here, along with the TIE Mk. II. Lost two TIEs.
Second match I got smoked by a Crack Swarm + Punisher. Only rolled 2 evades the entire time. Didn't kill anything.
Third match was another win, v. Poe, 2 B-Wings and an A-Wing. I managed to focus down 1 B-Wing before it ever even fired, in the very first round of firing no less. Round after that, he lost the second B-Wing because I was able to thoroughly predict his maneuvers. A-Wing had no shot, Poe landed a single hit on a TIE, second B-Wing died as everyone focused on it again. Poe lost a shield, which he regenerated. I blocked his k-turn, then chased him down with the TIEs which proceeded to rip him to shreds over two rounds. Rexler killed the A-Wing. Whole thing only lasted 5 rounds of firing. Only took 1 damage on a TIE, and Rexler lost shields and took a hull. Had decent evades, and focus tokens were spent on defense almost exclusively, while Predator did the heavy lifting on attacks (Poe was the only ship above PS 2).
Fourth match went much like the second, with me basically utterly failing to roll evades. Lost to a duel Decimator list with Palpy and Vader. Every single roll, natural or not, was 2 hits 2 crits. Nothin' i could do, but I did get half of Oicunn's points, so it wasn't an utter shutout.
In the end, I had a great time playing and meeting new people. The venue was amazing too, Gamer's Gauntlet in Clinton Township, MI. I really really wish I could have fought the TLT guy, I think I could have beat him with my list. As the B-Wings demonstrated, it utterly devours low agility small ships.
