Col. Jendon shenanigans?

By Spaceman91, in X-Wing Rules Questions

So I'm looking to clear up how this works.

Col. Jendon

Fcs

Weapons Engineer

Title (SR something)

Omega leader

Juke

Comms Relay

Omega Ace

Crack shot

Epsilon leader(?) (the stress clearing one)

So I take the target lock turn one

1. Target anyone because of title.

2. Weapons engineer grants a second on someone else

Combat Phase: give one to Omega Leader or Ace

^^^ Does all that work? ^^^

Later in the game fcs kicks off do I get to get a second TL on someone else (not the person I fire at) ?

Thanks in advance

Yes, it's true. All of it.

Jendon acquires a TL which allows weapons engineer to acquire another TL on another ship. And then Jendon can use his ability in the combat phase.

FCS let's you acquire a TL which then allows you to trigger Weapons Engineer and acquire a TL on someone else other than the defender.

Awesome. Now I just need to fly it and watch it fail because I can't fly imps to save my life.

34 pts for Jendon is a heavy investment. I think he would be targeted quickly and have more to do with it failing than your flying ability.

Just be aware that while FCS triggers after an attack by Jendon, the Weapons Engineer will only let Jendon have a maximum of 2 target locks. If you haven't used your target lock during the attack, FCS can give you only one more. Weapons Engineer won't give you another one for the FCS at that stage as you've still got one.

If you spend the target lock during the attack, then FCS will trigger after the attack, and then Weapons Engineer will allow a second target lock.

You can only have 2 target locks at any stage.

Technically you could use weapons engineer to aquire another lock and discard the first one.

Actually, I suppose you could have a TL,

Use FCS to aquire a second

Weapons engineer triggers, giving you a third

You are immediately forced to discard down to 2 locks

Choose to discard the TL given by FCS on the target you just shot at

End up with 2 TLs, neither of which is on the target FCS triggered off of.

Yeah, the point I was trying to make was that you could only hold two target locks, and not stack them up endlessly. Which I think was a possibility the OP may have been thinking about.

A friend pointed out to me this morning that omicron + Fleet officer does almost the same job but cheaper and at range 2 :(

I see what you did there...
