BTL-A4 and Blinded Pilot (new)

By Vitalis, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Ok with an old one it is pretty simple, but we had a situation with new blinded pilot and stresshog:

The BP says " you cannot perform attacks (...)" while BTL says "aster you perform primary attack".

Can you sacrifice primary to BP and then TLT?

I just want to be sure cause for me its pretty straightforward you have no attacks at all with BP and BTL cause you have no attack this turn then BTL have no trigger to pop but our group rules referee (guy that judge many events in Poland) suprised me by saying you can TLT of the BTL with new BP...

First, if you don't attack with your primary first then BTL will not trigger.

Second, you only flip the new Blinded Pilot after the Attack Phase is complete, not the current attack.

Second, you only flip the new Blinded Pilot after the Attack Phase is complete, not the current attack.

That's not true. BP says to flip it down "after your next opportunity to attack". It says nothing about the combat phase.

Your correct though that the btl attack requires that you actually make the primary attack first. Since the new BP prevents the attack altogether the title can't trigger.

Are you referencing the actual card or an app? I have the X-Wing Companion app on my phone and the card text is different to what quoted on the app.

The card says:

You cannot perform attacks.

After your next opportunity to attack (even if there was no target for an attack), flip this card facedown.

The app says:

You cannot perform attacks.

At the end of your next Combat phase activation, flip this card facedown.

I'm not sure why they're so different, but there you go. Never trust an app as an absolute reference. :)

it also depends on old or new damage deck.

With the old damage deck, you could use TLT, with the new deck you cannot.

I made a spreadsheet of the differences and had a brain malfunction between reading the card from the FFG article detailing the changes to the damage deck and typing in my spreadsheet.

that's functionally the same, unless you're Dengar.
