Bonus points

By Sander Walgers, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

Some missions grant bonus points, such as objective markers to be claimed or succesfull rear shots. At the end these points are added to the killpoints. This still applies is one of the players has lost all his ships.

Some other missions grand additional points by doubling the point cost for an objective ship. However, if all ships are destroyed, the fleet is worth 400 points. Do you still get the additional points of the objective ship? The obective is worth double the value, but your whole fleet is worth 400 at the end, regardless of the value of the individual elements.

Yes you do! So it's possible to score more than 400 with objectives with points.

It's also possible to lose your entire fleet and "win" by points ;)

Incorrect. If you lose all your ships and somehow wind up with more points, you get a 5-5 loss and the other player gets a 0 MOV.

Comedy option: Blow up your opponents last ship the same time yours blows up. You have more points from the objective. Who wins?

Second player. If you are second player then you get a win based on your MOV. If they are Second Player they get the win and 0 MOV.

I wouldn't consider a 5-5, 0 MOV a "Win" for anyone, even if you did have more points.

We had the very thing happen twice this weekend. It was hilarious! :)

Not only did it happen twice, but the gentleman (Nick) who won the 2 day tournament in Indianapolis this weekend lost all his ships but won the final game 8-2 because of Precision strike objective points.

You may ask how is this possible?

The last round of the game Nick's opponent killed Motti with squadrons in the squadron phase which chained killed the other ISD. However Nick had already killed his opponent's ships in the ship activation phase.

Nick out scored his opponent by 200 points after the objective points were added in!

...and he was second player?

Very cool!
