Can friendly tie fighters use youngest ability if he has Opportunist equipped?
I told him it had to be an action and unfortunately he decides to use youngster with Opportunist due to a ffg article he said which had that equipped

"Friendly TIE fighters at Range 1-3 may perform the action on your equipped Upgrade card."
Action header cards only, don't trust the articles to be correct about rules.
No, only upgrade cards with the ACTION header: expert handling, squad leader, marksmanship, daredevil, expose, and soon to be rage. THATS IT

This is correct.
No article involves Youngster with Opportunist. It's Expose in the article.
And even if it did, the articles are not rules references and fairly frequently get rules interactions wrong.

Hopefully you called over the TO!
Oh we did
When I saw buddies squad I thought it was different of coarse, but didnt say anything at the time because I thought maybe he had a plan.
(BTW this is game 3)
So anyway he decides he wants to use Opportunist on his tie fighter and I said you can't. For obvious reasons.
He said he could.
I read youngster ability, and asked is Opportunist a action?
He said no, but he saw this exact thing listed on ffg article
Now looking back I think he may have gotten expose confuses for Opportunist, because I know that was in the article.
Anyway, he said he wanted a ruling and I asked the TO but he wasn't too sure.
So he said don't bother and we kept playing as normal and in between our dials I asked on here.
I just wanted something to show him, since he seemed to think he was correct,so thanks for the quick replies.
I know I was correct as it's not an action, but again I just wanted something to show him, because I am not from this area, I don't want him to think I was cheating
I felt bad for him though because his squad was ruined, and too late to make any changes
Also I'm not sure what exact article he was talking about But he said something about the rule book on page 20 which I'm not sure what he was getting at.
Anyway not a bad day was a winter kit tournament, so no biggie went 2-2
Second game I made a bad move and it costed me.
My 4th game the dice finally gave out. (Biggs in the previous game rolled 6 evades in a row
If anyone curious I went with something little different

Pretty solid build actually. I liked it but will retire it after this I think
That's two games in two days that Biggs took a 5 hits from a Proton rocket and in the end took only 1 dmg.
And thanks again folks for the speedy replies
Edited by Krynn007If Youngster just conveyed the effect of the EPT to all the other ships in range it would be beyond awesome. Talk about another force multiplier that probably would even put Howlrunner to shame especially with the much larger range.
Youngster is a cost effective generic with an ept, that is all he is until FFG release an Action ept that doesn't suck.
Right now Crackshot Youngster is the best way to fly him.
