But in all seriousness, daily. I think of squads and combinations and other ideas daily. Helps me get through boring days at work, though, so there's that.
When I take my daily 3.25 mile walk. It makes the time go a lot faster.

I'm way past thinking about it. I'm living it. when I'm driving down the street I set a maneuverer dial. I inform others when they have missed the opportunity to take actions. I keep a spare rebel captive in my wallat so when people ask my to pay for things I tell them to take a stress. If some one bumps into me I say APL triggers....
I think I have a problem.
31 year old Ph.D. student, married with 4 kids. I think about X-wing several times a day. Sometimes if I get a really good idea I stay up at night thinking about it. Now that I have my own pet squad that I play every chance I get, I don't spend as much time tinkering with squads as I used to. That's actually been a relief because I always hated making lots of squads and knowing I would never play half of them, as somebody mentioned above. But now I spend that time thinking about asteroid placement, maneuvers, when to choose evade and when to focus, etc., etc. I just can't stop thinking about this awesome game! In fact, when it was first shown at GenCon before the final version, I watched the videos and literally had dreams about X-wing for several nights!
