I like throwing in an extra MC30 Torp into an MM list. Since there is no triple tap activation, I like having that extra ship with just a few more heavy dice.

Here's a question I'm curious about. Clon's list goes squadron light, probably because so many Raiders with 2 anti-squadron dice each are enough against squadron-heavy lists. The Rebels can only do that off of Nebulon-Bs, but could they get away with running 2x YT 2400 anyway? Would the Rebels have to work a Nebulon-B into the list to have a little extra anti-squadron punch?

Rebel and Imperial dynamics are sufficiently different that the list doesn't translate at such a literal level. Some reasons why:

1. The MC30 lacks the Demolisher ability. The triple tap is HUGE. A mere double arc by a single shrimp may take out smaller ships, but won't take reliably take down medium or large ships in one turn. I find you need support of some kind.

2. The MC30 lacks a gladiator's maneuverability, even more so a glad with engine techs. That two click speed one maneuver is great for bringing both arcs to bear, and for staying on a target's tail or flank. The MC30 is more suited to a fast paced strafing run.

To Vergilius' point, a single escort Neb is not enough AA to make a significant difference. 2 blues are nothing compared to 4-6-8 blacks dice. However a list like this might be able to outpace enemy fighter support.

I had a similar idea, but instead of MC30cs, the list I was toying with had four CR90Bs, two Neb-Bs and a CR90A.

CR90 B Swarm (Rieekan eTechs) (399/400)
CR90 Corvette: CR90 Corvette B (39 + 48)
+ General Rieekan (30)
+ Leia Organa (3)
+ SW-7 Ion Batteries (5)
+ Engine Techs (8)
+ Jaina's Light (2)

CR90 Corvette: CR90 Corvette B (39 + 13) (x6) (312 points)
+ SW-7 Ion Batteries (5)
+ Engine Techs (8)

Objectives Assault: Opening Salvo (0)
Objectives Defense: Fire Lanes (0)
Objectives Navigation: Intel Sweep (0)

I've been meaning to try this for a while now but have not. The general strategy allows for 2 plans, get to medium range or to just double ram with every ship (preferably triple+ ram by forcing enemy ships into ramming you). Rieekan and Engine Techs make this possible and difficult to deal with. I see no other course but to ignore enemy squadrons (could be a problem).

I would switch your flagship to a CR90A with TLRC so it can hang back. If you bring that thing forward, I'm just going to target it first and your plan falls apart, because now you have a Corvette swarm that needs to stay at blue die range but has no means with which to stick around.

And while the idea of the double ram with Engine Techs is nice, it's almost impossible to pull off against a single ship. Remember that, when you overlap, you deal damage to the first ship you fly through. So if you have a CR90 behind another CR90, even though you land on top of the enemy ship, you count as ramming your own ship. You can still get plenty of double-rams in on a single turn, but then you're striking multiple enemy ships. And spreading ram damage around like that is going to hurt you more than it will help, because that double-ram costs you half of your hull value. A Rebel Assault Frigate list is going to chuck enough red dice to pick off at least one corvette before you start ramming, and put enough damage on others that they'll have to suicide to pull the ram off. And an Imperial list will make for a very unfavorable matchup at close range with all of the front arc dice they'll be chucking your way.

If you want to use Rieekan in a list like this, I would say rearrange things to fit in a scout/torpedo frigate or two. If you have activation advantage, they can run up and then double-arc, and sit there in front of the enemy to prevent them from moving while the rest of your fleet skirts around them. You could also consider swapping Rieekan for Mothma. Then you're relying on your duplicate Evade tokens to keep your ships alive at medium range while you Concentrate Fire and double-arc each corvette for a guaranteed six damage split between two attacks. It makes the enemy's brace essentially useless, because it will only reduce damage by one. And if they redirect those shots to their side shields, your first ship will strip all of said shields away.

Plus, dropping Engine Techs means you can add another CR90B with SW-7s, increasing your activation advantage and your overall hull/damage output.

Oh, and Leia is kind of useless in this list. Each ship is going to be choosing its own command dial every turn already, so there's not much purpose in spending three points to allow them to change it to another dial that was chosen at the same time.

Last thought - Most Wanted makes a much better Assault Objective for this. Pick your opponent's biggest ship, and you're adding one free damage every time you shoot at it. So if you manage to double-arc (which shouldn't be hard against an ISD or MC80), you're adding a blue die out of the side and the front, which the SW-7s convert into auto-damage. With a Concentrate Fire dial, you're talking eight damage. Out of a 44 point corvette.

Some nice ideas Reegsk, especially on Most Wanted and keeping the Rieekan ship away from the ram fest.

Thanks. Now, bear in mind this is all just philosophical. I haven't personally played a CR90B list, though I'm really tempted. My focus right now is on Imperials and getting them down before I go full-traitor.
