Variant reports: k-wing,tlt,tactician x 2. And....other things..

By Velvetelvis, in X-Wing Squad Lists

2 wardens ,tlt,tactician.

Going to try with hello nasty as a third.

Any folks have run anything else with it ( besides Miranda).

How do you like it?

Better off just using Y wings ?

Never run it myself, but I played against someone who used a a pair of Warden Squadron Pilots with TLT and Tactician, a stressbot, and a generic Z-95 pilot. He demolished me, it was a very stressful game ;)

I have found Intelligence Agent to be a brilliant crew member to help get the Kwings in good positions, especially when deciding whether to SLAM or not. So IA on one to set up the shot and Tactitian in the other to pile on the stress?

Problem with the two Tactician Warden is that you can't comfortably insert a Stresshog into the list.

Ignoring that, just run them with Poe, he is pretty similar in price to Miranda and has his own merits.

Doesn't the double wardens serve as the stress mechanic instead? But with a different range band?

Yes, but they aren't anywhere near as strong - the Stresshog is just so reliable.

Actually, you have more than enough points to fit in the Stresshog, two Tactian Wardens with TLTs, with 14 points to spare.

So funny, I was going to post a similar thread to this today after my practice games today for our up coming tourney.

I literally ran this yesterday haha.

I found the K-Wings great! I really enjoy them! I just have to keep practicing with them to learn how to fly them to get that stress on in the first round of shooting. My opponent was running A Decimator Cheanreu? With Mara Jade so he wanted to be in R1 all the time while I was trying to get him in R2 So it was a little bit tricky.... If only they could K(Wing)-Turn haha. My opponent went gun hoe on Darthh Vader Crew dealing self damage to hand out Crits to the K-Wings but then Poe cleaned up the last two hull points. My opponent was not happy haha. Then it became a game of cat and mouse between Soontir and Poe. Classic Soontir with all the trimmings. Soontirs problem was that he pushed the limit every turn to Boost and Barrell Roll trying to get behind me when I'd 1 bank and boost then next turn 3 straight boost. Basically I recovered my shields back then we jousted at R1 then I'd fly out gain shields he'd push the limit and keep himself stressed. WHich made his next move very predictable.

I've gone off track now though, The K-Wings are great I just need to figure out how to move the appropriately to give me that initial Stress advantage. I know stress hog is more "reliable" cause of anything in arc but it's so cheesy and feels like cheating now. This provides more of a challenge to the player piloting the K-Wings and if done right. Hands stress out with none in return! Added bonus: K-Wings look freaking awesome!

double tactician warden + stressy = 88 points

so just a bandito

Well, I'm an idiot; forgot to include R3-A2 in my count.

Either way, that list exists and is called "Maximum Danger Zone", by the guy who originally ran Danger Zone. That's right, right? I think so.

Seems solid. Not my cup of tea, but I can see it being a reasonable thing to run.

Also infuriating to play against.
