Plus, y'know... they don't.
Yes, i agree. I probably could have stated that i agree with the devs, but whatever.

Rebel y-wings don't need help either.
Umm, you know that Paul Heaver isn't part of the design team, right?
He should be! AS much as I love FFG. they should totally hire that guy. If they had, Imperial Assault wouldn't have had their 4x4 debacle.
Imperial Assault wouldn't have had the issue if they hadn't tried to tack a skirmish game onto a dungeon crawl game.

Nice, but why is it scum only?
Because Boba would never work for the Rebels and frankly should've never been included in the Imperial faction.
Another reason is faction ID. They want each faction to have something that sets it apart and this kind of sneaky trick is fitting for the S&V faction.
I don't see why he wouldn't work for the Rebels if they paid him enough, and certainly we know he worked for the imperials. Why should he never have been included in the imperial faction? It makes a lot more sense to me than creating a whole other faction, but whatever. I guess I'll house-rule it.
You're looking at it from the wrong direction:
If you were Han Solo or Rear Admiral Chiraneau, would you actually trust Boba Fett to crew any of the systems on your ship?
Wow. Does FFG every have anyone fact check their articles? It seems like they are always making mistake with the X-wing articles.
Crap.....looks like another error in the article. Boba Fett isn't' Scum Only Crew card. He's Rebel Only and a Bomb.....
You can only ever have one of any unique named "character" in a list.
To be a little more precise. You can only have one of a given unique name in a list. There are a few upgrades that are not "characters" that are unique (as designated by the bullet point next to the card's name). Squad Leader and Lone Wolf, for example are both unique so you can only have one of each in your list.
By this time next week I'll start the timer to see how much longer it takes to reach european stores...
If we believe the message from a UK distributor posted in one of the other threads, that FFG aims for a universal release date, so that all retailers have stock on day one, it is very probable that local distibutors already have the boxes and FFG simply didn't bother to update the "on the boat" status.
At least I hope so ![]()

Thanks I couldn't think of a good way to put it.
The cards like Squad Leader aren't quite the same, because there is no way you could argue that you should have more than one unique upgrade in your list.
But the question about having unique pilot and crew of the same name comes up semi-often, because they're not the same thing, so I can understand why someone would think they could have both Boba pilot and Boba crew.

4 Royal Guards and 4 Imperial Officers was obscenely powerful. No other list could oppose it. (I don't play skirmish often, this is what my buddy told me)
Yeah at Regionals and Worlds, you pretty much had two choices.
4x4 which is 4 Royal Guards and 4 Imperial Officers there was quite literally no other lists that were even remotely competitive from what I understand.
The big problem was, the 4x4 list required you buy 4 core sets of ImpAssault because that's the only place you can get Royal Guards and Imperial Officers.

I like the flavour of this card. At a glance, for a single point it seems ridiculous NOT to take Monsieur Fett if you have a spare crew slot. Removing a particular upgrade would be devastating on some builds - as the article illustrates.
Question though. The opponent still takes the crit too yeah? So the defender takes a crit AND loses the upgrade. BAM!

Sounds like FFG figured this would be a built-in deterrent for people running that list. Clearly they underestimated us.

Yes, the crit isn't discarded. And even if they have Chewbacca around to get rid of it, they were still dealt it, so Boba Fett's ability still goes off.

To be honest, and I say this as someone who really enjoys Imperial Assault, including the skirmish game... It was a bit of a hot mess when released.
FFG had to recently make some rather large changes to the Royal Guards, Imperial Officers and Rebel Saboteurs because they were broken. I mean changes like changing Wedge so he only gets to remove a die when the target doesn't have him in his arc, and he only gets 2 attack die and 1 shield...
They also had to change how activation works in the skirmish because if you didn't have at least 7 units in the game you stood next to no chance. Their change however made one of the command cards completely pointless to have.
Wow ffg. Why even put out a release article if it's gonna be another month!!! Like common. This is unacceptable.

I disagree, happy to finally know the date. Now I don't have to guess.

Actually, 2 cores would do it, but regardless - people desperately tried beating the 4x4 - but there was nothing that was reliable. The final world's match was a mirror 4x4 match which included Paul Heaver who had run a spreadsheet and figured out the power of the 4x4.
It's all been fixed now, thankfully, and Imperial Assault skirmish is really balanced with no one list currently dominating.
I vote Rebel Veterans should have a Rebel Only astromech that does something to give incentive to use stuff other than TLTs on their Y-Wings. Something that only buffs in R1-2 to make you want ICTs, Dorsals, or even Blaster Turrets instead, or maybe it gives Rebel Y-Wings a boost to their torpedoes or bombs.
I have to say, one of the things I loved most as a kid was playing Rogue Squadron on my Nintendo 64 and getting Gold on every map using a Y-Wing. I have very, very fond memories of dropping proton bombs on anything and everything I could. In X-Wing, I still don't feel like I can realistically fly THAT Y-Wing. I don't have a "Rebel workhorse", I have something I'm all too often told I need to slap a TLT on 90% of the time. If FFG could nudge us into Y-Wings being a properly customizable, diversely equipped fighter... well, they can take all of my money.
I think it would have been better if Boba Fett could be used by all factions. He was a bounty hunter for hire, after all, and was known to hunt rebels, imperials and other scum. More so, I think he's way too cheap for what he does. I'd say he should cost about half as much as the high-end upgrade cards, so 3-6 points.

To which I repeat: yes, he was known to hunt Rebels and Imperials. So why on earth would the Rebels and Imperials trust him aboard their ships, where he could access information about members of their faction who he may be hunting?
The only reason his presence was tolerated by the Empire in the first place is because the alternative was a force choking. If it was up to other members of the Imperial Navy, he and his kind would have been locked up and scheduled for execution.
Also, 3-6 points is way, way too much for a single-use discard ability that requires you to deal a face-up damage card to trigger.

Incorrect. You only get one Regular Royal Guard card per core set. So yes you needed 4 cores.

Doesn't the new FAQ fix this. I don't have anything except the core and wave 1. So I'm not sure if I'm affected unless I play with someone else.

Yes, the FAQ and errata brought balance to the force.
