Because it is more often than not correct. Even if the 'shiping now' status isn't updated until tomorrow it's still correct.

I'll belive it when they're in my hands. "Less than a week away" could mean anything from being able to pick them up at my local next week, to they start shipping next week. The former is the doubtful ideal. The latter is the likely prelude to several more weeks of waiting, as stocks arrive at the warehouse, and are redistributed.
Sounds pessimistic, but I'm not going to get hyped about this until I'm running my Leatherman through the blister of the five TAPs I ordered.

I've refreshed a few times and still see the "The eighth wave of starship expansions for X-Wing™ is now less than a week away!" line.
FFG just tweeted "shenanigans" on the article... they forgot to update it, wave 8 won't be out until mid-March

Not the first time it's happened.
Far from the first time. I'll be taking my Wave 7 Palpatine Aces out to TableTop in Overland Park, KS on March 12 to get my butt thoroughly kicked. Then I'll have to come up with something fun for Village Geek in McPherson, KS on March 26.
It'll be fun, if you like adapting quickly and trying out new stuff, and it'll be a nightmare if you actually want to win.
